Wouldn’t something like this bode well for her? She’s upholding the rights of the taxpayers and residents by punishing someone wasting resources of their already very busy criminal justice machine.
I think it’s a major cop out and that just might hurt her more than actually doing her job.
If she has a familiarity with anyone involved, then she was right to recuse. Barring any personal relationship, it’s a bad move.
She got herself involved as a media hook
There was NO reason for her to do what she did
She could and should have passed those people to legitimate investigators because she knew at that point there could be a base to be made against him
She apparently had done this before to step out of the line of fire that being the prosecutor in certain cases could bring...

SA Kim Foxx recused herself because she inserted herself into the situation by contacting someone in the Smollett family to act as a mediator between Jussie and the CPD.
Completely inappropriate behavior for an SA and shows the level of corrupt idiots we have running the joint.

Hang on - -she RECUSED herself. When she thought Jussie was telling the truth she made a mistake and then recused herself.
That was the right thing to do.
