Now....the results are in. No Blue Collar Jobs. No Factory. Billions in free credits to Foxconn.

"Trump celebrated the deal in the East Room of the White House and attended a groundbreaking ceremony last summer in Racine County."

" Labor costs are steep, he told Reuters in the Wednesday report.

“In terms of TV, we have no place in the U.S.,” Woo said. “We can’t compete.”

The comments reflect a sharp reversal in a plan Walker and state officials had said would transform Wisconsin."

Interesting....first, it's interesting that we seem to rely on having other countries building manufacturing plants....not to say it's not welcome, but to rely on it for our modern economy in the more developed states? Not doable, as Foxconn now admits.

But even more importantly is the old saying "“A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” - when it comes to such PR. Pols overplay these hands because they KNOW the audience pays attention to the Big Shiny Object, but when the balloon is burst, very few talk about it. That's the nature of such things.

Almost as proof of what many of us have claimed...that EDUCATION and training is what the US needs most (not assembly line jobs), Foxconn is changing their plans to hire only engineers and designers at the much smaller facility.

Meanwhile - much of the bill was already paid:
"Wisconsin’s offer of economic sweeteners to Foxconn was unprecedented in scale, analysts say. The bundle of financial incentives was larger than what New York, Virginia and Tennessee collectively pledged to Amazon.com to win its new offices".....

It's interesting how many tear down Tesla, Amazon and other American companies when these should be the ones that Trump is breaking ground for (and giving money to...if money is being handed out).

I've always been saddened by the idea that America is becoming "the new China" to China and other foreign companies. Our future is in brains...in the cream, not in the whey.

LOL, people actually believe that. Of course they're gonna sucker up to Trump, same as they did the first time.

Trump still winning.

I'm guessing all the Trump haters who came here to crow, will quickly depart this topic again. Trump proves them all wrong again. But then again they hate Real America and Trump is the opposite of that.

Now all they can do is stomp the ground and say it isn't true. LAWL

I say come back. I've got some nice cold crow to serve you. Where's the OP?

MAGA!

All that one can reasonably say is "Hope that Foxconn follows through".

Mr. Trump: now do GM.

So a call from the President suddenly makes it economically viable to build these screens in the US? How does that work, exactly?

Foxconn are demonstrable liars when it comes to things like this, many times over. The proof will be in the pudding. For the residents of WI, I hope they follow through. I won't believe it until I see it, though.

Fool me once....
