lol where did you come up with that? The GOP has expanded the fedguv at rate as great or greater than the Dems. This includes all the welfare schemes everyone thinks they are opposed to.
See the budget for proof.

Clarification: Their voting base, (not members of congress) especially their small donor members. IE farmers who hate welfare except farm support welfare.

The Shrunken State of Donald Trump’s Presidency

'The Harvard political scientist Richard Neustadt famously remarked that the Oval Office “is no place for amateurs.” This is because, as Neustadt pointed out in his book “Presidential Power and the Modern Presidents,” which was originally published in 1960, the Presidency is, structurally, a weak office. Its occupant has to deal with Congress and the courts as co-equal branches of government. Even inside the sprawling executive branch, it isn’t easy to direct Cabinet secretaries, agency heads, and career public officials, many of whom have their own expertise and agendas. Given this challenging environment, Neustadt concluded, “Presidential power is the power to persuade.” If a President loses the ability to bring other players along with him, he is lost."

...Bingo.
Persuade the Leftists and Demoncrats? Even if Jesus (or Mohammed depending on your faith) couldn't persuade the Leftists on anything. Whatever Trump supports, they would automatically oppose it. Even if Trump support whatever Leftist agenda, they'd turn around and oppose it just based on their hatred of Trump and Republicans. The problem isn't Trump, the problem is the Left. They want only their way and their identity politics guy/gal.

And don't you just love the ridiculous Left?

On one hand they constantly attack him for being, in their words, too authoritarian, too strong and now they attack him for being too weak.

More than once Trump has said that he`s the smartest guy. He was comparing himself to his core voters.

It may be that given the legislation making the rounds to limit the power of the President, that position will be even weaker in the years ahead.

Donald Trump is a weak, insecure man with a very fragile ego. He has been that way his entire life. He's probably so insecure because of his "little mushroom" situation.

That's why he acts like a 7 year-old child, always making fun of people and insulting women and minorities, because it makes him feel good about himself when putting down others.
