is she talking about reducing debt with this plan, or just spending it?

Don't bother answering because I'm sure it still boils down to "I got mine, the heck with everyone else".
You can't buy a "palace" for $250K in NJ. Lucky if you can find a 2 BR condo for that.

I sure do.

Also, I pay more for health care - the premiums and out of pocket - than any item other than my mortgage. My premiums alone (after 1/2 covered by wife's employer) = annual income tax.

it could be said that limiting the SALT deduction across the board to $10K is very egalitarian aka "fair". Heck, folks where there is NO income tax might not come close to getting "their" $10K deduction.

In Houston, TX for example, they've got (what I would call) high property taxes - 2.11%. But at an average home price of $258K, that means their SALT is just $5,450

No, that is actually a fool's bet.
Truth is, they went from zero to $1.6B in about a week.

Actually not. As you well know it takes the House, Senate and the POTUS to do that.

But, nice try. The fact is the deficit was being brought down in the last years of a Dem POTUS....it was about 600 Billion, now it is double that for one reason only - complete GOP control.

That's the proof. Positive.

No. National defense is a Constitutionally-mandated expense. Find somewhere else to cut costs.

You clearly do not understand the simplest economic principal; compounding. That 1/3 you are getting back is an interest free loan to the government.

Divide it by 12, there's an improvement in your cash flow, each and every month.

Invest that amount at a 5% return. That is the investment gain you cheated yourself out of in 2018.

Pay down a 17 - 21% credit card or other revolving depth, digging yourself out of the hole you foolishly dug,

So it goes. Go scream at the mirror. That is the real bad guy in your life.
