Think long and hard about the term unintended consequences.

I realize that this is a troll post, but this would be a terrible idea for the Dems. Don't stoop to Republican-level politics. (Edit: if a Democrat were to take power).

The comments flying around various threads about using EO for banning guns are interesting in light of the long standing claims around here that "no one is trying to ban guns, they want reasonable gun control".

You guys are just making it harder and harder for the D's to win senate seats in rural states.

mass shootings is a national emergency but banning guns is prohibited by the 2nd amendment. Keep in mind the national emergency Trump is dealing with is illegal immigration without any amendment protecting the illegals from apprehension.

"Sensible gun control" and "reasonable gun control" are meaningless terms. Everyone, from those who want to ban guns entirely to those who want no gun laws whatsoever, wants sensible or reasonable gun control, they just disagree on how that is defined. I've yet to see anyone suggest they want unreasonable gun control.

Last large shooting was committed by shooter who had their gun permit revoked. Which goes to show, criminals don't follow the law. If you banned guns outright, the criminals and the state will all be heavily armed, and ordinary citizens will become defenseless prey. Not a country I would want to live in...

Don't have to ban them.
They can just make you run a gauntlet and jump through a bunch of hoops to get one.
People have the right to vote, but it doesn't mean they have to make it easy to do it.

400,000 illegal crossings per year vs how many killed by mass shootings (not the street gang kind)?

It's actually not that big of an emergency when you consider how rare it is compared to most other horrible crimes. Even rare within gun death stats.

For a group of people who sure hate Trump, Democrats sure don't mind copying him.

Hypocrisy at its finest.
