Considering some speculation that the lunar landing never actually happened
Maybe they should consider the site a crime scene and look for evidence of blasting from the rockets...
UNESCO actually runs a fairly well respected program to protect World Heritage Sites.
I can see the issue, tangentially as it is to most of our lives - we preserved the Spirit of St. Louis and that was a worthwhile thing to do, although it would undoubtedly have brought in millions if melted down for souvenir aluminum coins.
Well, there IS the matter of the human waste left there.
No aluminum in Lindbergh's plane. Cotton fabric on a frame mad mostly of steel.
We are left now with vague promises from the likes of Elon Musk who can't even paint cars properly in his car factory. The USA lacks the ability to launch anyone into space. We are back to 1961.
I think maybe we should be recognizing the large structures that were already on the moon, that our astronauts saw when they were up there, before we start turning the landing site into something special. We should be honoring whoever built these structures first.
Cowling and spinner, not that it changes the point.
Where'd ya find that? I scanned log and detailed sites about the Spirit, which said nearly nothing on what it was made of, but did see the aluminum cowling mentioned. There were aluminum planes at the time, starting in '28 with the Ford Trimotor, and German Junkers in 1919. An interesting centennial this year, first flight June 25..
They already "lost" the technology and original files of the moon missions, but they want to preserve a site where no human exist. What a load of crap universities put out.
It's a bunch of propaganda to keep the masses and the a*ses believing.
