We all know why the GOP is breaking blood vessels in its attempts to thwart the progress of this hearing as well

Interesting that Donnie Deutsch said yesterday that Cohen has been under tremendous stress during past 2 yrs and yet has not resorted to any type of relief in form of alcohol (Cohen has never had a drink) or pharmacology—no anti-anxiety meds, no sleeping pills...
And he does look strained this AM

TRUMP WON!
Thank you for stating the obvious and making sure we did not miss it by calling it out in bright red. Yes, we know. Still doesn’t change that many of us believe he was simply using his candidacy for branding purposes, not because he really wanted to win the office. That’s what con men do, and I believe Donald Trump is a con man.

Note that his conviction was for lying to protect Trump.

Also note that the reason he was convicted for lying is that the investigators didn't just take his word for it - they checked out what he said.

So maybe, like Manafort, he still thinks that he can get away with lying, in spite of already having been convicted of lying. Or, maybe, having been thrown under the Trump bus, he will tell the truth. Either way, he'll be fact-checked.

PS
I think it is really funny that the GOP members of that panel think they can intimidate Elisha Cummings or get him too flustered to run this hearing—
This is a man who faced down armed police in Selma and was attacked for his efforts in the Civil Rights struggle
Those GOP in suits are nothing he is afraid of...

Michael Cohen's opening statement to Congress

"Donald Trump is a man who ran for office to make his brand great, not to make our country great. He had no desire or intention to lead this nation -- only to market himself and to build his wealth and power. Mr. Trump would often say, this campaign was going to be the "greatest infomercial in political history."

He never expected to win the primary. He never expected to win the general election. The campaign -- for him -- was always a marketing opportunity."
Yea. We all know that. And so do the Trump Republicans
Especially the ones who spent 4th of July in Russia. They know whos got access to a bigger piggy bank..

The really good aspect of this hearing is that all the GOP members are going to make comments that will come back to haunt them come election 2020...
By then even more info about Trump’s crimes and his cronies’ crimes will be public knowledge
So they are going to be hammering nails in their own coffins with their rhetoric...
Why should we impede their course of self-destruction???
