The fiscal argument is a failure.

Still, if it's a moral argument then anyone receiving government funds must be tested, not just the poor. That includes judges, law enforcement, elected officials and entities receiving corporate welfare (looking at you, auto/bank bailouts).

This proposal is just another way to demonize and criminalize poverty and line the pockets of wealthy politicians.

Alabama legislators propose drug testing for food stamp recipients
I'll bet if an unannounced random drug test was pulled on Congress, 20% would be dirty.

I'd say more in the 35%-40% range.

I love this! Not only should food stamp recipients who test positive for drugs be cut off they should go to jail for drug use and possibly fraud. They claim they are poor and downtrodden but were able to pay for drugs...that's fraud. Some are so bad they exchange swipes of their food stamps card in exchange for drugs. It doesn't get more corrupt than that.

I also believe us tax payers should protest against food stamp recipients who test positive for drugs. Their names should be released and the tax payers should be all whipped up in anger and protest in front of the druggies homes, which in many cases will be financed by Section 8 vouchers.

Probably a Roy Moore - Jeff Sessions joint venture.

That damned overtime has starved many a good worker to death.

This is being pushed by the Trump Administration, and has been ruled unconstitutional, of course.

But that was before Donny started appointing grads right out of law school to the bench, with the promise of fealty to the despot.

Should children, the elderly and disabled be hauled in for drug testing too? Great plan.
