Last year Disney fired Director James Gunn over Offensive Tweets which was geared to pedophilia and sexist towards little boys. The tweets were exposed by Alt-Right echo-chamber leader Mike Cernovich. Like Roseanne Barr, Disney did a kneejerk reaction and fired James Gunn over offensive sexist pedo tweets that were a decade old. James Gunn is noted for his direction of movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy saga which is a Marvel film and owned by Disney.

First off, I have to say that I'm happy that Disney rehired James Gunn. Kneejerk reactions to fire someone over words that they use creates more problems, and does not provide avenues to heal. If someone says something out of line in public, bring them in, talk to them and investigate. Talk about optics, the context and delivery of what and how is said, even if words or statements that are made during off of work hours or years ago. Also caving into mobs also do not do any justice either. I'm happy Disney came to their senses and reinstated James Gunn. Hopefully Disney can have the same compassion and rehire Roseanne Barr. I also hope more employers can do dillegence and check for context, optics and if is worth it to fire someone off of work hours or comments that said years prior for offensive remarks on social media. And last people that do such stuff have no life. usually Conscious woke pro blacks, types of Feminists, SJW'S, Alt-Right, White Nationalist partake in such actions and pose a grave threat to individual men and women over the right to exercise free speech, even context, optics are in line of jokes, speaking truth to power or poetic.

What are your thoughts on Disney to rehire James Gunn after being fired for offensive tweets?

I think it was the right move. The tweets were old, he showed genuine remorse for making them, and they were made originally to shock and draw attention to him, as a struggling director a decade ago. He owned it, apologized, demonstrated that he's grown from then, and didn't trash anyone or deflect. He did everything right in the PR handbook, including not slagging Disney for their rash decision, and he's being rewarded accordingly.

I think posts made deep in history should remain there, regardless who makes them, without appropriate context nearly everyone has things that they likely regret.

Reminds me of the old jokey line:

You'll never work in this town again - until we need you.
