I'm not sure but I bet it would get really wet.

The walls weren't in danger of collapsing until the fire had raged for a couple hours. Nobody said it would have been the best possible solution or that it should have been used but the TDS idiots are the only ones saying that it wasn't a plausible idea when in reality it was.

That is one of the most paranoid and wrong-headed statements ever.

We will be told what caused the fire and it will be the truth--forensically and scientifically--not a 'guess' based one ones own prejudices.

You are totally insulting French officials who you do not know and painting them with a fake brush. Just because our admin lies to us on a regular basis DOES NOT MEAN that the French government will lie to their citizens.

I do not believe they will lie about it, and find the idea that they would due to "muslims" or atheists rather patronizing and frankly, bizarre.

Wasting your breath so to speak
If people want to believe it was a Muslim plot there is nothing you can say to change a mind set to prefer conspiracy to the truth...

This is an interesting thread on Twitter:

https://twitter.com/sotiridi/status/1117837859514408960

Shows updates from beginning to present, complete with vids and photos. Go through it. Looks like most of the cathedral will be okay. For those not familiar with how to do that, click the date on the tweet, it will open up everything for you to scroll through.

Son, it backfired on you. 1000 year old iconic cathedral burns to the ground and it's

from at least a dozen of you. Please focus on the bold part.
This... As evidenced by this...

This. Condolences to France, Catholics, and we Christians in general.

another doubling down on tds, good job.

... ouch... I'm starting to get woozy.

What do you got to lose? Let it burn down on its own. Maybe worth a consideration, maybe not.

That was my thoughts, it seems too high to get enough water or other fire retardant to douse flames.

Not so necessary say some in here with fire fighting experience.

What else do they have? Put yourself in their shoes for a moment... Actually, , don't!

It's interesting that no workers were in the church at the time of the fire, that doesn't mean that construction wasn't the cause but it sure does bring down the chances that some guy with a grinder started it.

What a terrible loss. The feeling I got from standing inside that darkened cathedral was quite unlike anything I've ever experienced from walking inside a majestic structure. I've always wanted to return since that one visit and never have. I hope it can recover, but much of its historical significance cannot be replaced.
