IDK... I was in OKC a few months ago and that's a damn fine city. I was very surprised. Reminded me a lot of Ft Worth which has a very vibrant downtown and plenty of big money jobs.
It had plenty of very nice places of entertainment, a large gay community, lots to do, a clean place, few homeless.
OP I think your stereotyping. There's a lot of money in OK and it seems to be fairly progressive.
Oklahoma is a decent state and it has more scenic beauty than people realize it does. However it is not an exciting state in any stretch of the imagination. It’s southern neighbor has much more with beaches, mountains and deserts. Texas steals a lot of Oklahoma’s thunder.
Still Oklahoma is a good clean safe red state. People may never “flock” there but they are going there in steady numbers.

Fastest growing = left behind, so has a lot of catching up to do. To be fair, it's better than not growing at all but this stat is basically meaningless.
Yao Ming is not growing while my 6 year-old nephew is growing like crazy. Using your logic, my nephew can dunk over Yao Ming.
It's really hard to grow when you're already 7'-6". Just like it's really hard to grow when blue states are already the most prosperous states in the union. That doesn't mean Idaho will ever come close to catching a state like CA.
Yeah, that's high on my list....about #374 on my list of why I might move somewhere.
The pro business chamber of commerce crowd largely rules Oklahoma. Their concern reflects why so very few anti-gay bills get passed originated by the conservative Baptist side. As highly undesirable of a place Oklahoma is to visit or hold conventions, one of the last things needed are boycotts from the pro-gay side.

By having people pay an extra city sales tax, Oklahoma City for years has simply been trying to keep up with the Jones, in other words, with other cities that are growing. Oklahoma City's latest way to do it is with a new street car system for downtown. The professional basketball team now known as the Thunder came to OKC in 2008, knowing the arena they would play in would receive enhancements from the use of city sales tax dollars.
Tulsa has a unique way of doing it going well beyond any other city. Tulsa got a local old oil billionaire to donate close to a half billion dollars to build a world class park next to the Arkansas River. So some Oklahoma residents would rather stay and try to make a bad, sorry state better than get the hell out of it.

People are flocking to Colorado and Washington state in large numbers.
True...people are flocking to both red and blue states and fleeing red or blue states due to jobs, climate preferences, schools, crime, etc. I've lived in well run red and blue states and poorly run red and blue states.
