The House passed a bill to expand anti-discrimination laws to protect sexuality and gender identity:
https://news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-...senate-unclear

This is probably in response to SCOTUS agreeing to hear whether Title VII protections extend to gays. Will Trump sign it? Will it pass the Senate? Maybe it’s time we stop making arbitrary categories and just prohibit discrimination based on anything except conduct or things like employment or credit history for loan applications. That would cover everything from gays to MAGA hats.

Couldnt play identity politics if they simply prohibited discrimination period.

Democrats will always chose to work for one special interest class or the other.
They don't want to offer everyone the same deal but prefer to divide people into victim classes and pander for votes. If they had a victim mascot, it would be a sloth and they would tell their base, try and keep up !!!

Gender identity is BS and doesn't need protecting. But the left ran out of minorities to use as a shield and is now inventing them based on the mental issues of unfortunate people.

All for the gay rights thing, a person should not be discriminated against, gay or straight, due to their sexual preference.

However, the gender identity thing, no, those people need mental help, there should be no special protection for such people, except for falling under disability or something. I say this because a man is going to be a man, no matter what they think or do, until science can change DNA. Changing the meaning of a word is not going to change that also, and I nor anyone should be accused of discrimination because of this fact.

If they are not getting extra rights, then why even bother passing this then?

That's my point. They have the same rights as everyone else, so what else are they getting that needs it's own special bill to define?

Apparently the right to have a special identity law of entitlement. Not everyone gets that !!!

What's next a law for people with bushy eyebrows or excessive ear hair like Beto ?

People won't listen to Beto when they see a potato plant growing out of his ear. He'll want a special law to stop that from happening, no doubt. Not everyone has that problem.

Both parties choose to work for special interests. That’s how we roll.
