So does an illegal abortion help the baby more so than a legal abortion?
Boycotts and threats of them work. For the past several years no other state had more proposed anti-gay laws than Oklahoma. But hardly any passed. Why? Because the Chamber of Commerce lobby feared boycotts and loss of conventions. Oklahoma is already a highly undesirable state to come to without allowing yet more reason not to come.
No it isn't and I'm sure they would be happy to have a liberal like you out of their state.
So they'll form partnerships with the kleptocrats of Nigeria and send delegations to authoritarian China, but not Alabama. How pious of our moral betters in Austin.
Georgia is always getting boycotted, or threats of being boycotted, by various entities including movie stars who apparently are in favor of the murder of innocent unborn babies.
They can move to New York where Andrew Cuomo allows abortion, especially after birth.
if a woman is destitute and can't afford to feed or care for the children she currently has....and the state doesnt provide food assistance, day care, standard education, housing, medical care....there are many reasons (and they are none of our business) why a woman would choose to terminate a pregnancy.
We have methods to prevent pregnancies such as condoms, birth control, morning after pill, etc...
Or you can just not have sex if you don't want to get pregnant.
You failed to address the fact that abortions will happen regardless of if it’s law or not.
The difference will be whether a back alley doctor will use coat hangers on a woman or if a doctor who has a medical degree will perform it.
More people will die and the same number of babies will die either way. The number of dead women and women with fertility issues will skyrocket.
There’s idealism and reality. I focus in reality. I’m an engineer.
Being an engineer, you ought to possess the logic necessary to reach a more rational conclusion ... that being .... in a world where abortion is made as easy as ordering a Big Mac at a McDonalds drive up window, would OBVIOUSLY see an exponentially greater number of aborted babies, compared to a world where obtaining an abortion would be more difficult, and dangerous.
The GOP politicians in Texas are scared of passing legislation after Democrats gained 2 House seats and almost beat Senator Ted Cruz. In the state legislature the GOP lost a lot and every GOP judge in Houston was swept out in favor of Democrats.
They know they can't alienate moderate voters or they will lose even more ground. They even lost some of the gerrymandered districts, ironically those districts have been gradually changing and those districts always favored GOP by a slim margin so it was easier to flip those districts. The Dem districts were always large city districts that would always be Dem anyway. So they got a taste of their own medicine.
Yeah cause so many Californians are flooding into Texas and want to turn it into a California 2.0. (Not just from California and other blue states with high tax and high cost of living.

That is reality.
Then riddle me this, logic master: why is it that abortion rates are higher in places where it is more restrictive than places where it is less restrictive? Do you honestly think women aren’t going to have an abortion if they really want to?
Texas overall is conservative and may pass their own abortion law. Will Austin also boycott the rest of Texas as well? Will they boycott themselves if national liberals demand a boycott of Texas over any new law?
Why would anyone from Austin have any reason to go to Alabama?
Heck, why would anyone have any reason to go to Alabama? It's not a business or tourist hub (besides maybe Mobile, which you can find shoreline and Casinos in numerous other states).
