Still, I can walk in their neighborhoods alone at night, as a woman, while I would never ever do that in poor black neighborhoods in the US.
You can't walk around in poor Black neighborhoods. You could do that in an affluent Black area like View Park or Baldwin Hills. The ghetto, not at all.

In my case, I don't venture into ghettos and I'm a Black man. I avoid trailer parks too. Don't want to be around the trailer park meth heads.

And there is something you don't understand: I don't care who black Americans vote for. I really don't. I can come visit America whenever I want to and stay wherever I want.

Black votes are a small minority of votes in the US, and most blacks don't vote anyway. It really isn't that much a big deal.

Actually, a majority of Blacks do vote, so you have it wrong. And if the Black vote is so insignificant, why is there such an obsession over the Black vote?

I've never been to a predominantly-white trailer park, honestly. If someone here has, or lives in one (or has lived in the past), it would be interesting to hear from them: what is it like?

The only trailer park I've been to was in Pigeon Forge, TN, about 40 minutes out of Knoxville. It was overwhelmingly Mexican, and a modest but clean place. I was there a few times visiting friends, never felt unsafe. That's a place I could have seen myself living in if necessary.

I'm asking myself the same question - haven't found an answer, yet.

I grew up in a predominantly White area. The subdivision I lived in was middle class. However, there were certain places I didn't like going to. Having dealt with my share of bullying and racial issues, there are some places I felt very uncomfortable going to at night.

Something else. I live in Georgia. I'm about 32 miles west of Atlanta. Meth is becoming an issue where I live. There are places where I don't feel that safe.

I've asked that question OVER and OVER. And so far, many people just don't answer the question.

The only place I've been in GA is Atlanta. It was only for a couple of days, but I'm considering coming back for a visit. I'm not sure, though - I don't drive at all so I have to take that into consideration. I know there is Marta there, but I'm not sure how efficient it is.

I'm more familiar with Alabama (Birmingham and the Florence area), where people are extremely friendly. Are folks in ATL as friendly as those in Bama?

That's sad to hear. There are bigots and nasty people everywhere, I guess.

That's because - as you state - You Don't Know!

Today they are all full of medications and drink and opioids and there is less to fight about (many who could leave...did)....

However, the highest murder (or gun violence - or killing) rate ever recorded in the USA was in them thar areas and was 250 per 100,000, a figure 50X the current rate in our civilized states.

I'm glad to "learn ya" as it appears Right Wing Billionaire media seems to have even reach Israel.

Believe me, you didn't want to go to the neighborhoods I am talking about...ever!

When I lived in WV my elder friend (born in 1890) told me the last black person in the county was in 1950 and they chased him out. Accused him of rape and put him on the train. That story was told to me by someone who was there....and was told to me in about 1972.

The myth that this all was long ago and far-away....is just that. A myth. We have words, video, audio and pictures now. You cannot rewrite history any longer based on the whims of billionaires that own the media.
