When I say conservative I don't mean being a memeber of any political party but moreso in our thinking about politics. I catch so much hell from other blacks. I mean I get called every name in the book If I reveal that I am conservative or if I disagree with the libral agenda.

Are there any black conservatives out there? Whats been you experiences with other blacks?

Uh-oh. You must be a libral. Can you answer the questions?

I feel sorry for black conservatives, or even moderates. As a white person, I can be of any political persuasion I want without someone questioning my "racial loyalty". That's true of most other ethnicities. But if you are black, you better tow the line, or you're a sellout. Kinda sad. Maybe someday, the black community will be more accepting of different points of view.

I have been reading about past Black Republicans and learning more about the affiliation they had with the party. I have been teetering the fence now for a couple of years pertaining to what party I choose to affiliate myself with. I get teased by friends and family when I mention that I may cross over, but
for right now I claim neither party and not sure what I will do at election time.

I liked Ron Paul and I like Obama, but not certain where I will be come election time in November, just not feeling anyone currently at this time.

Thanks for answering. If it's not libral I don't think the masses of blacks want to hear it. I said something against about Rev. Wright and I still keep getting "beatings" because of it. It seems the masses of blacks want to continue to perpetuate the very things that are holding us back.

From what I understand Blacks did start off in the Republican Party and this has been my reason for studying to find out the history of how, when, and why we changed parties.

Even if you are "conservation" it does not mean you cannot agree with librals or anyone else. I'll say it now, I'm voting for Obama and I'm conservative. The problem with blacks is we put all of our eggs in one basket than once all the eggs crack and go bad we having nothing!! We need to diversify our political affiliations.

I agree-we need to be independent thinkers and make our own choices and not be swayed by the masses of folks. I do know that most of my thoughts are conservative and this is why I am teased about just needing to be a Republican because of the way I think about most matters. I agree as well that I can have a conservative thought pattern or beliefs, but still vote democratic-yet I still need to think about many things and hopefully have it all figured out before election day.

When you talk to people it depends on what political issues you agree with. What I have seen is that conservatives tend to me more narrowed minded and not as open to others ( I am not saying all, just most that I have met), so a minority being narrowed minded towards others when they are a minority boggles my mind.
