The least educated were statistically most likely to vote Trump
This misrepresented...at best. Traditionally the least educated lean to the Democratic party. That's because they tend to vote for the party that promises them free things.
Technically the least educated did vote Trump in 2016 @ 51%. By contrast Obama won 65% of the least educated in 2012.
At the end of the day, I don't like to sound like an arrogant, d-bag, talking down about the poor. I'll leave that to the Democrats. I want the poor & working classes to have access to good paying career jobs & I want them to earn higher wages. Both of those things are finally happening under Trump, which is one of the reasons I support Trump.
The idea is Constitutional, and no, such thing would not lead to the country to break apart. As a matter of fact, the country is now more broken and divided than it has ever been thanks to the idiot in the WH.
States doing this on their own that are blue/purplish without a clear 270 votes based on the popular vote may have this backfire on them. Trump can go to states like California/NY... "You may not be able to change the vote in California but you can in Nevada".
An election based on the popular vote changes it dramatically because everyone has a reason to vote, in this case with only more liberals states EC votes at risk the incentive is 100% on the conservative side.
