She earned her Facebook ban.

Actually, I had never heard of her before Facebook blocked her.

I liked Karl Rove's meltdown in 2012.

"Requiring a safe space" is just an arbitrary add-on, pulled out of thin air without careful thought as to whether it makes any sense to add that onto it. Snowflakery IS ... well, lets look at this definition given in the London tabloid The Sun - not exactly a liberal-leftist rag.

A brief aside before I go further. Why not use a right-wing tabloid to make my point? A lot of you all on this board accept postings from sites with much less credibility than The Sun even by conservative standards. If you'll listen to prepper sites, zerohedge, InfoWars and such, then surely you'll should accept The Sun. With that said, I'll go on.

Other than frozen rain, a "snowflake" is a term used to describe an overly sensitive person who thinks the world revolves around them.
Quote:
The name comes from the phrase "special snowflake", meaning somebody who is self-obsessed and fragile, easily offended, or unable to deal with opposing opinions.
Which is exactly what Laura Loomer sounds like. Her woe is me story about losing 90% of her income, her career being ruined, and all that kind of stuff -- especially after she spread lies about Rep Omar, seriously slandered Muslims by accusing them of wanting to replace the Constitution with Sharia Law, among other things.

Even aside from "snowflake", "easily triggered" is deemed every bit as worthy of disrespect as snowflakery. Pick any thread in P&OC, read through them, and you'll find triggered is every bit as stigmatized as snowflakery. [1]

So why aren't her "get thicker skin" "sticks and stones" faction of supporters of her positions slamming her as hard as they slam that lady sitting in the street in DC during Trump's inaguration? Seems to me that the right wing adheres to the standard "Thick skin for thee, but not for me".

[1] I personally don't think either deserves stigma. Such people need understanding and compassion and two-way dialogue - providing they did not do anything to hurt, harm, or demean the dignity of others, or in any other way marginailize them out of petty personal distaste alone. But if the "thick skin over all else" are being hypocrites when defending Loomer.
