And Obama was never a tough-talking armchair warrior like Trump is. That's the difference.
No the difference is trump was called to service and he used his priviledge to avoid serving, basically he chickened out. Obama on the other hand was too young to be drafted. Enjoy adoring trump your coward in chief.
this is only the third state visit from a US president during Queen Elizabeth II's reign; the invitation has only been extended to Trump's most recent predecessors -- Barack and Michelle Obama in May 2011 and George W. and Laura Bush in November 2003.
In 68 years only the third formal state visit by an American President. She must think President Trump is special company. Let the adoration begin.
You do understand that the Queen has no say in this? Her job is to do what her government had chosen to do.
I suppose she could fein illness, but to her that would be shrugging off what she sees as her duty, which she sees as sacred.
Yes, it’s a strange thing about the U.K. folks. They are unfailingly polite, yet brutally blunt. It’s hard for me to reconcile the two. Perhaps it’s that they are blunt with each other, but keep their party manners for outsiders.
Very true! Even coming from a Scottish family, it's hard for me to reconcile the two.

Uh. jambo. Dude. Reread my post. Carefully. I agreed with you and called Trump an armchair warrior. That's not a compliment.
Trump appears to be pretty darn beloved in Cornwall. I was there for a month last June and folks could not stop pestering us about him as soon as they learned we were Americans. They had a lot of praise, and also lots of good-hearted jeering of his overall goofiness. We were *not* expecting positive remarks but lo and behold, we heard plenty.
The silent majority is everywhere, it seems!
We just got back from three weeks driving through small towns in the Republic of Ireland and then Belfast, Dublin and Liverpool. Everyone we met was skittish about Brexit, our Belfast guide said many in the North are scurrying to get EU passports while they still can and the overwhelming majority of folks we met in pubs and innkeepers were pretty disgusted by the antics of our President.
Trump grew his fathers business 10 fold. How about proving he is a fraud? The guy paid for his own campaign and he donates his salary to charity. I guess that makes him evil.
Wow, can you prove any of your statements? The only truth is that he donates his Presidential salary.
Reportedly, his three oldest adult children have joined Trump and Melania on the trip. U.K. tabloids claiming Jr brought his squeeze, Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The biggest idiot in the could grow a business from today's equivalent of billions of dollars.
Trump went bankrupt 4 times on his multi million dollar inheritance.
He's worse than an idiot.
And donating his measly salary to charity? It's peanuts in this day and age. He's making way more that by hoiking up the cost of staying at Mar a largo since he became President. Its all for show
