Omigod, Bayarea, did you write that yourself? When I see people posting their poetry in forums, it may sometimes be funny, but is usually a mess. (For instance, there is Tantalust's example, with problems with grammar and meter, apart from the crudeness and outright lies - I know of no Democrat promoting polio.) Yours is amazingly clever - the phrases, the rhythm, the rhymes!

I hope you send it out further to a broader audience.

And keep writing for us!

I knew someone would take a fun thread and ruin it.

You're consistent.

[ With apologies to Rogers, Hammerstein & Julie Andrews.]

"Liberals' Favorite Things"

♫♫Polio, typhus, diseases medieval♫♫
Ev'rything liberals push for is evil.
Na-ncy prances with pom-poms and sings:
♫♫ "These are our democrats favorite things" ♫♫

♫♫Stacked-up cadavers in hospital halls
Liberals blocking all sensible laws. ♫♫
Feces and fentanyl, typhus and meth.
♫♫ Opioids, heroin, night train and death♫♫

♫♫Needles and feces lie under the swings.
Nancy and Chuck love the sickness it brings.
♫♫ Brown-paper packages stuffed with B-M.
These are the democrat's favorite things.♫♫
I see a fun thread coming.

Do you ever take off your prim uptight attitude and lay it aside and play?

Yes, I do. That's the best part of being retired.

These days I need to be heavily medicated to read the front page or watch the evening news.

Yes, I did. Thank you so much. I am no Shakespeare, but I enjoy making up silly rhymes and hoped that folks here might get a kick out of my efforts.

I tried singing it for my husband at the dinner table tonight, but my amateur rendition wasn't fit for human consumption, let alone YouTube.

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came Nancy Pelosi

and she vomited.
