In honor of Trump deciding to make himself the star of this year's Fourth of July celebration in Washington, I would like to propose new lyrics for "The Star Spangled Banner."
"Oh say can you see
Trump’s immense vanity
Which so proudly Fox hails
As he carries on tweeting.
Whose broad girth and long ties
Thrill his fans on the right
O’er the ramparts we weep
At the partisan screaming.
And the Kremlin’s red glare
North Korea's nuke scare,
Give proof to the night Donald Trump is still there
O, say, do Rush Limbaugh and Hannity still rave
While the Tweeter in Chief excavates his own grave?
Omigod, Bayarea, did you write that yourself? When I see people posting their poetry in forums, it may sometimes be funny, but is usually a mess. (For instance, there is Tantalust's example, with problems with grammar and meter, apart from the crudeness and outright lies - I know of no Democrat promoting polio.) Yours is amazingly clever - the phrases, the rhythm, the rhymes!
I hope you send it out further to a broader audience.

I knew someone would take a fun thread and ruin it.
And now in honor of Bayarea4, please allow me to propose new lyrics for "My Favorite Things"
[ With apologies to Rogers, Hammerstein & Julie Andrews.]
"Liberals' Favorite Things"
♫♫Polio, typhus, diseases medieval♫♫
Ev'rything liberals push for is evil.
Na-ncy prances with pom-poms and sings:
♫♫ "These are our democrats favorite things" ♫♫
♫♫Stacked-up cadavers in hospital halls
Liberals blocking all sensible laws. ♫♫
Feces and fentanyl, typhus and meth.
♫♫ Opioids, heroin, night train and death♫♫
♫♫Needles and feces lie under the swings.
Nancy and Chuck love the sickness it brings.
♫♫ Brown-paper packages stuffed with B-M.
These are the democrat's favorite things.♫♫

Do you ever take off your prim uptight attitude and lay it aside and play?
Some people have just too much time on their hands.
Yes, I do. That's the best part of being retired.

These days I need to be heavily medicated to read the front page or watch the evening news.

Yes, I did. Thank you so much. I am no Shakespeare, but I enjoy making up silly rhymes and hoped that folks here might get a kick out of my efforts.

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came Nancy Pelosi
and she vomited.
