I think they should tell and it is not because I hate transexuals or anything like that. I am for gay marriage and I have a friend who changed his gender. Now he is a female. I accept that and still continue our friendship.
The only reason why I think they should tell is because I would want to know. This is not something small you just keep in the dark. I am sure many people would want to know if their partner did this. It not anything I am going to discriminate against-I just would want to know.
I personally don't care who you sleep with or even what they were at birth. Are you attracted to them? If you sleep with them then guess you can find out more before you take it to that step. We don't need more government intrusion in our lives, but less.
Should 'trans-sexuals' MOD CUT be required to tell their partners of their change?
Would you feel comfortable finding that a sexual partner is actually a member of the same sex as you? Would you be progressive and embrace such diversity?
In my opinion, they should be required to. Just like I believe that those with sexually transmitted diseases should be required to inform their partner or face legal consequences.
Should a woman with a face lift or breast augmentation also be required to let their "partner" know they too have been surgically altered? although, finding out that the gal your dating is older then she appears, or is naturally flat chested is a bit dfferent then a gal who had a chopadicfrommy operation, or the guy you thought was cute actually had an addadictomy operation.

Read the first page. Also, I know guys that I went to college with and now that just have a small frame. And there are girls I know that are just bigger than most. But these guys and gals are given hormones to help with that.

F.Y.I. , I have been to numerous OBGYNs that had to actually ask! Surgerys are quite excellent in appearance and most are fully functional!

A red flag would go up if I started dating a women who was larger than me, had thick hands, mannish features and a deeper voice. Maybe with some genitalia issues, dissimilar to those who are born female.

Now, I have to take umbrage with part of your post. This is such a deep and profound topic for a forum. I'll try to keep it short.
Overall, transsexuals and transgendered are not mentally ill. That is to say that a mental disorder causes the desire to become or to line as the opposite sex. However, there are rare cases in which mental illness, such as schizophrenia, is the result of of the gender identity crisis. There is, what some in medicine and academia call, a birth defect. Please see this. Hopefully it will dispel the myth that some people "just want to be the opposite sex."
