For years now it’s been rumored he might do something like run for President despite having no political experience. Now he’s all over the news with this Hawaii stuff despite not saying much.
I’m way to cynical to think he’s doing this just out of the goodness of his heart.
I really don’t want to smell what the President’s cooking.
I think the takeaway here is: never underestimate just how much influence, clout, and pull Hollywood and celebrities really have. It makes no difference how credible (or not) they are to speak on any given subject. What matters is...they draw audiences....people listen to them. Much more than any dull person in a suit whose name is unknown, speaking in a monotone voice.
Defies logic, yes. But. It's reality. Why do you think they've gotten more and more vocal about political issues in recent years? They've gotten wise to this.
How do you think Arnold Schwarzenegger got to be governor of California? You think people actually voted for him because they liked his politics or thought he'd make a great governor?
Get real. He became governor because.....he's Arnold Schwarzenegger and threw his name in the ring. And at the time, was a generally well liked and "cool" movie star. Nothing more. Nothing less.
This should, at least for now...be taken seriously.
If we are to have celebrity presidents
..I admit I would consider voting for The Rock. Consider, not for sure, of course. He at least acts like a decent person. Has a production company, does charity and activism work, etc. besides being an actor and wrestler.

I remember Governor Schwazenegger, can't make a bigger mess than the professional politicians already did, making a cameo and handing the torch to The Rock in an action movie. And Dwayne Johnson does meet Presidential qualifications.

"political experience" is NOT required to run for ANY office.
Sometimes it s BETTER to have NO political experience.
If he ran, I would evaluate his positions against everyone else's. At least we know that if Putin gets out of hand, The Rock would Pile Drive him to the canvas.
