Only if he’s good enough,” Trump said. “If he’s good enough, I know the owners, I know [Patriots owner] Bob Kraft, I know so many of the owners. If he’s good enough, I know these people. They would sign him in a heartbeat. They will do anything they can to win games. Frankly, I’d love to see Kaepernick come in if he’s good enough. But I don’t want to see him come in if somebody thinks it’s a good PR move. If he’s good enough, he will be in
Kaepernick realized he didn't have the skills to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, and instead went down the political path. Total money grab. He had a back up job with the Baltimore Ravens, then CHOSE to call the owners Racists publicly, and they pulled the deal.
He's not good enough. Now out of the league three years, and no longer even good enough to be a back up.
First he uses his platform to call for Kaepernick to be fire.
“You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it [but] they’ll be the most popular person in this country.”
Then he implied that the NFL shouldn’t get tax breaks if people like Kaepernick are allowed to play
“Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!"
And now we are supposed to believe him that He thinks Kaepernick should get a fair shot? Lol.
Owners run a business. Talent is a variable - but not the only variable.
The way I see it - in the case of CK, he has some talent... but his talent has to overcome the risk of alienating around 50% of the fan base... which hits the owners in the wallet. No owner has chosen to take on that risk at this time.
Gotta remember - the league took a big financial hit with all of that anthem stuff. Rich people usually like to operate with as little risk as possible.
I think he should play...maybe try the Iranian Football League.... he sure won't have to worry about the evile national anthem in Tehran! And he can kneel 7 times a day too...
