Yep, back azz country with more in common with Islamic Republics than the West. A fairer comparison would be Italy, the heart of Catholicism, vs. Saudi Arabia or Iran the hearts of Islam. Have fun in your Islamic Republic bro

Good for Israel! Now I have to ask how Mike Pence tolerates Israel?

OmarTlaib take the LGBTQ side on this, but of course take a shot at Israel:

“Pretending that this act somehow balances or mitigates Israel violating the dignity & rights of Palestinians - or undermines case for defending Palestinian rights - is deplorable!”

The Middle East reality is a veritable ocean of cognitive dissonance for the American SJW, or a least the ones who claim to believe/follow principle and not DNC liberalista marching orders.

Then again, that is true in virtually every place that liberal SJWs praise, like Cuba, Venezuela et al, where the opposition to America, or at least their fevered vision of right wing America, somehow clouds and obscures their vision from seeing the innumerable contradictions to their beloved "principles" like persecution of LGBTQ, intellectuals, free thinkers, women, minorities, the elderly, etc...what with virtually every one being run by strongman corporatist murderers flying some ridiculous flag of peace/love/harmony.

That said, watching the mental gymnastics they perform to somehow forgive the Arab/socialist/communist world for flinging gay people off rooftops and condemning women to death by stoning for the crime of BEING raped because well, US hegemony or something....it's always entertaining.

Like if AntiFa tried their act in any of the places they seem to idolize, they'd be killed on sight by th insanely intolerant powers that run these nations they seem to believe are utopias. If Madonna (as a Saudi woman instead of pampered American) shrieked to some cheering crowd that she wished she could blow up the royal palace of Saud, both she and the entire crowd would be vaporized, like instantly. If two members of the Cuban government said Raul Castro was the illegitimate 1st Secretary and should be cast down by the Party, a la Ohmar/Tlaib, they'd be dead within the day.

The people on the left who decry America as some oppressive nightmare while praising these truly insane dictatorships around the world...they define the term "willfully ignorant."

I invite every LGBTQ warrior or ally who thinks America is so rough to go virtually anywhere in the Middle East that isn't Israel and just kiss their partner in public. By all means. The notion of intolerance will become a great deal clearer to them, at least for the next few hours before they are killed.

Actually, there was an American evangelical called Scott Lively who lent his support for Uganda's punitive laws against LGBT people:

You don't hear a peep out of anyone when the thing they champion or decry in America is 100% betrayed in some other country in perfect contradiction to their beliefs.

Take for example how much you know about Jesse Jackson and Bill Clinton (first black President) giving both financial and propaganda support to Foday Sankoh and Charles Taylor back in the day. Learn up on it, and then wonder how anyone can reconcile support for those two, especially under some "they care about black people" rubric.

Cognitive dissonance. Accepting the contradiction causes discomfort, therefore, do not accept, do not admit and do not even see/hear if possible.

It's the basis of all politics everywhere. Ignore/deny the infinite contradictions to ideological beliefs and double down on the belief. Taking the game of illogical and irrational thought and going pro.
