Another anemic month.....

Also, it looks like 25,000 of them were temporary workers for the 2020 census.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...st/2224196001/

Hiring slowed in August as employers added 130,000 jobs, further stoking recession fears and strengthening the Federal Reserve’s argument for another cut in interest rates this month.

Further dimming the latest employment snapshot: Payroll gains for and June and July combined were revised down by a total 20,000.

Threads like these always make me laugh. For some reason some people think there is no ceiling to jobs. They think they can just keep being added by the hundreds of thousands every month for all eternity. The growth eventually slows.

Just how many jobs each month are we supposed to see, with 3.7% unemployment?

The last time we had unemployment rate this low, was 70 years ago, in 1947, right after WWII, when the USA was just about the only functioning economy in the world.

Record 157,878,000 employed in august, record low unemployment rate for blacks, and wages have risen by 3.2% this year. If that is anemic, I'll take it

People like the OP can win the $500 million lottery, be relaxing on the beach on their own private island, and they'd complain that the cabana girl didn't put a large enough lime wedge in their daiquiri

If you hit full employment, then hiring more people will be affected.

90+ million are not working.

In 1990s unemployment number was very low, and yet we added 300-400K jobs per month, and the stock market behaved accordingly (it skyrocketed).

Today, the market is lower than it was 19 months ago.

We have far more than 100K people who enter the job market every year. There are no two ways about it, the Obama recovery, indeed the world economy, is cracking under the relentless bungling of Donald Trump.
