There are new children being detained, now. I hope they've got a system for tracking who the kids are, now.

You are lying when you say "80% of these asylum seekers are making bogus claims." 1 - there's no way of knowing that, because the admin. is not taking asylum requests...they closed the ports of entry, which is why so many were coming across the border illegally.

Keep up. If you don't know these basic facts, you are not reading/watching the news.
Say that out loud three times. We all know the MSM is the best place to get our facts from.

And yes, most of the asylum claims are bogus. Being poor and from an impoverished country doesn't mean you're entitled to US citizenship.

Haven't read the entire thread, so it might have already been mentioned....but it was pretty nasty of that Unavision moderator to accuse all Trump voters as being racists. It's bad enough when the moderators interject their anti-Trump liberal bias into their questions, but to come out and attack half the voters in this country? Ye gods.

That is cute of you. You place posters on your ignore list for simply disagreeing with you and providing facts. No name calling or childish insults, just beating you in a debate.

I suspect polling wise, Biden and O'Rourke could move up a few points, Harris will likely move down a few points, Castro still will poll around 1%, and Sanders and Warren continue to battle it out for 2nd place.
Actually, I think Harris did good, not enough to get the nomination though. Beto should get out of this and run for senate. Sanders and Warren are too progressive for me. I love mayor Pete. Sadly, I don't think many are ready to vote for a gay guy who's married.

Well, if both parties want something for that issue done, they will work on it...but only when the Democrats have the WH. Because the current Republican Party will only work w/the Democrats if they have to.

Democrats, believing in government, know that working with the other party is necessary, and are much more amenable to doing that. And they are better at compromising...accepting that they won't get everything they want. For gosh sakes, they accepted almost 200 Republican amendments to Obamacare, in return for....nothing. Not one Republican voted for it. After over a year of allowing it to be debated.

Contrast that with the Republican so-called health care bill (either in 2017 or 2018). They didn't allow ANY debate on it. They didn't allow ANY Democratic amendment to it. Because they didn't have to. They didn't care if half the country wasn't represented in that bill. That is not something they are concerned about. OTOH, you will hear Democrats speak of doing things to help rural areas (almost all Republican without a chance of voting for Democrats), and things like that.

I like Pete and I’m gay myself so that’s certainly fine with me but I just think Pete needs more knowledge and life experience before he’s ready to be POTUS.

He seems to think optimism will solve any problems but that’s not really how it works in politics. I’ll certainly take him over the orange maniac though.

Yes, there is a sh*load of trouble going down in South America. Put yourself in the place of a mother with several small children. You have to travel, including walking, with little money...thousands of miles. It's possible one or all of you will die. You won't do that, if you don't think it's necessary for your children to survive.

What the U S SHOULD be doing is having a conversation w/South American countries to see what can be done. But Trump doesn't understand diplomacy, and doesn't work with other countries, esp what he calls "sh*thole countries."

You can find the Court orders for the child detainment lawsuits online.
No, I'm not lying! I said "statistically" that most asylum seekers make bogus claims. Reading comprehension, much? What makes you think this latest group is any different? Where's this religious, political, etc. persecution in their own countries? That is the only valid reason to claim asylum. Poverty and even violence are not!

They had to close the ports of entry to any more because we were overwhelmed with so many of them at one time. Thousands after thousands of them kept coming in caravan after caravan. We didn't have the facilities to house and feed that many all at once!

Mexico offered them asylum with jobs when they first started coming and most refused so don't hand me that BS that they and their children were in danger after reaching Mexico. If they really cared about their kids they would never have put them through walking thousands of miles through the desert.

We've been helping Mexico and these Central American countries for decades now and to what avail? Nothing has changed. Are they infants that can't help themselves?

Filing a lawsuit is what these people do to gain money along with greedy lawyers. Filing doesn't equate to winning the lawsuit.

You're gay? I didn't know you were gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
