I own guns. Including magazine fed semi autos. I shoot competitively, for fun, I have been known to hunt, and I carry. I do not believe more laws and government control over what types of firearms I own and use and for what is needed.


And I'm not a "Republican gun humper" either. Nor do I use like terminology to disparage people who disagree with me. I used to. But I have mellowed with age and experience. I may occasionally lapse into using terms like "dingbat" or "goober head" and such but I cannot remember ever having used a sexual reference to describe someone's non sexually motivated views. Oh, wait a sec, I do describe White supremacists, skin heads and such as "Hitler humpers."


But I reserve such terminology for things I hold in ultimate and open contempt and not for purposes of debate or discussion. Firearms rights are a subject I take seriously so I refrain from lapsing into insult. Such tactics do not further rational discourse and are highly annoying.


I may not have had much higher schooling along complete intellectual grounds but I do try and use a proper command of language when I am trying to make a point. Speaking in absolutes and using blanket statements is something I actively avoid.
