The advice of Politicians and their agencies full of anonymous bureaucrats should never be taken seriously.

See a trend yet?
More taxing, regulation, subsidies, involvement in general by the government so we can finally get this thing right?

Shame conservatives won't take responsibility for their health.
It is shameful but it goes across the USA as the entire country has very high obesity rates. By the way, this Conservative has ideal BMI weight and 11.7% bodyfat and 45.1% muscle mass and the most obese people i the nation as a group (blacks) overwhelmingly votes Dem.

The only reason I stayed thin is because of genetics.

Food deserts are absolutely a factor.

Well, before that whiny, fake term, food desert, became a thing........people actually participated in the
nightmarish task of traveling to get groceries if necessary. I have had to do it, pedaled my bike for 5 miles to get groceries......not that big of a deal.

Just more excuses for the fatification of a nation.

Don't blacks and hispanics have higher obesity rates than whites in this country?

Oklahoma was fat before 2009
It's now almost 2020. Oklahoma has had time to shape up. But Republicans helped make alcohol more readily available by legalizing sales of wine in grocery and drug store and convenience stores since 2018. Alcohol has calories.

People in Oklahoma need to stay out of restaurants or at least quit ordering the most fattening items on the menu. You go into a restaurant and its pitiful how many people in there are fat. If you're watching your weight, it's a guilt trip to go there.

So some people were born to be slim without much fat and don't need to take much effort to stay that way.

The entire nation is more obese than 30 years ago, the change is stunning. Too much fast food but many poor areas have little access to healthy food and make really terrible choices. Exercise is only by accident.

We are dragging China along with us and many poor countries like Ghana. KFC and others fast food outlets expanded into Ghana and they now have an obesity and diabetes problem.

Quote:
But KFC’s expansion here comes as obesity and related health problems have been surging. Public health officials see fried chicken, french fries and pizza as spurring and intensifying a global obesity epidemic that has hit hard in Ghana — one of 73 countries where obesity has at least doubled since 1980. In that period, Ghana’s obesity rates have surged more than 650 percent, from less than 2 percent of the population to 13.6 percent, according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, an independent research center at the University of Washington.

Fast food was alive and well in 1980 it's not the food it's the activity level we sit around lot more then we used to. When I was 12 years old in 1980 I spent maybe 1 hour of time in my house when I was awake. Now kids spend all day sitting inside playing videos games and online gaming.
