To be clear it was a mistake. I'm not outraged at all whatsoever (and I think it would be deeply hypocritical to be outraged).
But I wonder if trying to forcible turned Afghanistan into a multicultural cosmopolitan metropolis with foriegn investors and a global trade network is a good thing.
Maybe its better for them to leave them as a tribal society; I know feminists and humanitarians in Kabul are scared to death of America leaving but does Kabul really need to be the next Almaty of central Asia?
Question is how many "Mistakes" are made that the US citizens are unaware of?
Because as a American citizen is Amazes me how so many across the world despise us for military action taken in our Name that we the citizens are unaware of and likely would not want to get involved with in the first place.
Well that incident created about 100 new terrorists vowing revenge. Then we'll spend a couple million and soldiers lives trying to kill the 100 terrorists we created, and in the process create another 100. Great strategy !

Most foriegn DC activists support American intervention. They are dissidents from Cuba, Iran, Syria, etc. and want military action.
They want their country to become like America. We support them because having countries with open markets makes us richer and allows us to control trade networks and make ourselves supposedly invincible (supposedly).
But usually its people who live in these countries that suffer; our government loves imperialism because they think its a win for everyone. Mainly for ourselves of course.
But our ambition ends up making more people suffer. In Uganda during the whole Kony 2012 propaganda, Obama sent weapons to the Ugandan government to end this child militia.
But the actual politics of Uganda told us Kony was weak an irrelevant at the time, and the government just decided to use the weapons because they wanted American funds. They got a lot of kids killed with no end result.
So I don't know if foreigners hate us, but we should stop playing god, even at the cost of our own wealth.
