I say through them all in jail if Trump and his cohorts do not comply with their subpoenas. There is no requirement in the Constitution or the law that requires a vote to convene an inquiry of impeachment. The vote comes when the inquiry is completed. Not surprising that team Trump would formally object to something that doesn't exist to create political theater. Delay and distraction is Trump’s entire defense strategy.

Following a contempt citation by Congress, the person cited is arrested by the Sergeant-at-Arms for the House or Senate, brought to the floor of the chamber, held to answer charges by the presiding officer.

Every person who having been summoned as a witness by the authority of either House of Congress (under Supreme Court rulings) to give testimony or to produce papers upon any matter under inquiry before either House . . . and willfully makes default, or who, having appeared, refuses to answer any question pertinent to the question under inquiry, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by fines (such as daily fines of $25,000 until the person complies) and imprisonment in a common jail for not less than one month nor more than twelve months.
Opinion:
One cannot simply define the inquiry of impeachment let alone an old lady
from the South who needs to understand the 5th and 6th Amendment.
She might as well be a little old lady from Pasadena......

There are roughly 325 million people in this country who can rely on the bill of rights when charged with a crime. Then there is one who is subject to a whole different set of rules and that's the President. If and when the President gets impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate, he becomes a private citizen and thus may be protected by the fifth and sixth amendments again.

Do you understand that the impeachment process should it go through it's full cycle only makes the President a civilian again?

A deadline has now passed without compliance to a properly formatted and delivered subpoena.
