I mean, a child has more of a right to a free, public education than you have to a job, or housing, or public transportation. Do you guys really think this will stop with minors?

Do you know what your titers are? You can transmit disease too.

Do you support your landlord or HOA having the ability to override you & your doctor's medical decisions? Would each & every one of you be willing to have your titers checked, to receive the flu vaccine every year; even if you've had a bad reaction; under threat of losing your job, VA benefits, health insurance, etc ...?

Do you know that there is a good possibility that if you are over the age of 40; that your immunity from your own childhood vaccines has waned & you would have to be re-immunized all over again? Do you even know how many vaccines you would have to get; even if your doctor said that wasn't necessary?
Beyond disturbing.

Even the posters that worship at the alter of the medical industry aren't OUTRAGED that a principal could override a doctor. You can bet if the doctor said kid must get vaccines and the principal said no, they'd be in an uproar trashing the principal decision, yelling about how he is unqualified.

But since the decision fits their agenda, that are OK with a non-medical personnel making decisions about vaccines. Its almost hilarious that I was the one who questioned this process ... me!

They should be absolutely OUTRAGED. But ... vaccines no matter what, right?

Right. Exemptions, where the vaccine poses the threat won't be approved because it makes vaccines look bad.

Exemptions, where the vaccine can't be given because they won't work, will get a pass because they can blame it on cancer or the chemo; not the vaccine.

I wonder what would happen if the parents DID give this child the vaccine so they could send him to school .. and the kid died.

Who would be liable? The parents? The doctor? The school? The state? The vaccine manufacturer (ha)?

Where would the responsibility lie?

Would any doctor actually give THIS child a vaccine knowing the outcome?

According to the boy’s neurologist he has uncontrolled seizures after vaccination which leads to multiple day hospitalizations. It seems pretty obvious that he’s not a person who can tolerate vaccines. Yet the denial is based on a very limited set of data and does not account for anyone who may fall outside of that realm. There’s no gray area at all when it comes to vaccine reactions, apparently.

What would happen to a doctor who gave this child a vaccine?

I wonder if that's why the state took no real stand and instead left it up tp the school. The state reviewer punted the decision to someone else. Perhaps because of the liability issue?

Possibly. I can’t imagine a doctor would ignore the advice of the neurologist and vaccinate this child knowing the risk, yet the school won’t accept the exemptions and instead forces the boy to homeschool. It’s insane.

So the beef is with the medical official who reviewed the boy's medical records.
The school needs to defer to the child's doctor who has a working knowledge about the CHILD not just his DIAGNOSIS.

The same diagnosis can mean very different things for two different people. Why is some talking head in a bureaucrats office being deferred to; instead of the doctor who has hands on experience?

Would you really want your personal medical information & privacy being violated as it makes it's way through multiple hands & as you face multiple condescending 'I'm sorry but I'm passing this on to ...(any number of people or offices)?

I agree. Why would someone who has never even met the child have more say in his medical care then the specialist who has worked with him since he was a baby? I also keep thinking about future vaccines and what doctor in his right mind would vaccinate this child after hearing what his neurologist and his parents said about his reactions to them. Would they really just do it knowing that it would for sure trigger a massive seizure leading to a multiple day hospitalization and possibly death?

Two very different messages.

I see both sides of the issue. Tough choices.
Then NOBODY gets an exemption. Got cancer? Can't be vaccinated? NO SCHOOL.

If we are going to support violating the American's with Disabilities Act; best not be selective.

That's a three-in-one deal. Have to homeschool? Quit your job. Quit your job? At least you are no longer paying taxes for a educational system you are banned from! And then America can have just what it needs; more budget-strained schools, more families living in poverty & more kids who don't finish school!
