Don't expect the left to understand those big numbers.
I’ll explain it more simply so they’ll understand:
Late March: Fauci and Birz said that we would have 2 million dead if we didn’t lock down and take all possible precautions - and 200,000 dead if we did everything perfectly.
Late September: We have 200,000 dead.
Late September: Leftists blame Trump for 200,000 dead.
Not true....this doctor was just 28 years old. A friend of my co-worker died from COVID-19 and she was only 45 with no pre-existing conditions. Some young children have also died...COVID-19 has no age boundaries.
That 28 year old had asthma, which is an risk condition. She also had a history of upper respiratory infections and pneumonia. But according to her sister, "...that wasn’t going to stop her from doing what she loved during the pandemic." I went to high school with her mother, and my heart breaks for her family.
There is no disease that has age boundaries. But that doesn't change the FACT that virtually all covid deaths occurred to people with on average 2.5 risk factors. Dying from ONLY covid, which is what your examples refer to, happens to 6%. Again, heartbreaking, but not something we should be shutting down the economy, schools and life for.
195,000 of them would be dead anyway. People die in America every day, always have.
This, exactly.
I've kept track of the stats for my county this past month, and in every case, there were underlying health conditions. And almost all were over 70, and many of them "in their 80's".
My uncle died in August. He was 91. He did not die of covid. In the past 6 months of this shutdown, how many elderly folks would have died regardless?
Tell that to the 200,000 dead americans how well Trump did. And don't forget to sing his praises to their families as well.
I have lost two brothers, a nephew, and extended family members. Mine has been one of those families hit very, very hard by CoVid. I have brought this up numerous times in this forum when people try to act like it doesn’t exist or that people aren’t really dying from it. I have never voted for Trump and am undecided about voting for him this time. I do not blame Trump. You shouldn’t either. There are many things that are Trump’s fault, this isn’t.

And Trump said they would be doing well if they got it to what was it? 50K 100K anyways...its a moving target with Trump. And yeah when we were at 150K then maybe 200K was the number to shoot for. Guess what? Were still having roughly 1K a day die from this, we're going to hit 250K and im sure that Trump will then go on about how "perfect" he did on it.
4% of the world population, over 20% of the dead. When you ask Fauci how he would grade us he just says he wont get involved in the politics, the numbers speak for themselves. Well. Theres the numbers.
The 7-day moving average is 730 Covid-19 deaths per day.
Its like a bunch of old people, women and children arguing war is no big deal because 99% of the fatalities young men.
And sure enough, in only 6 months Covid-19 has killed four times as many Americans than the Vietnam war did in 10 years.

So, Trump is responsible for the lock downs? Is that what you are saying?
