On the third anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, President Joe Biden called on Congress to implement "commonsense gun law reforms."
On Sunday, Biden made remarks about the horrific 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
"Three years ago today, a lone gunman took the lives of 14 students and three educators at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida," Biden said in a statement. "In seconds, the lives of dozens of families, and the life of an American community, were changed forever."
Biden called for gun control.
Evil does not exist within a gun.
It exists in the minds and hearts of those who pull the trigger for evil purposes
Gun Control is not about guns; it's about control.
Where is the "common sense" gun laws being proposed ? Maybe I missed it , but does he put any focus on mental health ? 23,900 commit suicide per year by firearm, 47,500 total. Seems like that should be addressed.
Killing someone over a bag of potato chips, is another sign of a mental health issue, this happened in Detroit a couple of years ago. Again, Joe is not addressing this.
The number one most used firearm by criminals is a Glock 19. How is ending to legal immunity for gun manufacturers going to work when, Glock for instance is in Austria ?
Also, how is banning a firearm that is used in homicides less than knives, hammer, fists going to stop the nightly shootings that happen in our inner cities across the country?
I guess I'm not seeing any "common sense" going on here at all. How is focusing on the law abiding, going to stop the suicides , and the violence that plagues our inner cities ?
Guessing Biden doesn't remember what happened in 2010.
We can only hope there is a repeat of that. Although, I'm willing to bet, the Democrats think they are untouchable right now, that things have swung so far to the left, there won't be a return.
They will do whatever they think they can get away with without states trying to stop them. Can they get away with banning AR-15s without the states stopping them? Possibly. I would recommend more people here who own guns get invested with the platform and buy one of their own, that way there are more people with something at stake that would try to stop them from doing just this. They are just basically scary looking rifles that hold more rounds.. however the 5.56 round is a particularly good manshopper, though it's not so good with armor, so if you're looking to hunt UN or Chinese troops during some future communist takeover of the US, you might want to invest in armor piercing rounds or something with more bite.
The Smith and Wesson M&P15 Sport 2 is a good, affordable one to use as a platform to customize. You can add accessory rails, red dot sights, and things to make it even more bad-ass looking.
Would I sell mine if they offered a buyback program? Sigh that's a tough question to answer. I don't like slippery slope laws such as these...it would be better to have one than not.. how much would they give me? I'd like at least 5X my purchase price, so around $4000+... Assets have inflated so much that's chump change at this point.... Give me $100,000 after taxes, and I'll part with it... 5 ounces of rhodium, or around 50 ounces of platinum...

Actually , you are wrong. They don't hold any rounds, well , one if there is one in the chamber. The magazine does. So, exactly the same as any other detachable mag semi auto rifle.

I guess most guns other than shotguns are technically one round devices then. You are right they will go after the magazines first. That's low hanging fruit. AR mags are cheap and plentiful even now during the shortages. There's more AR mags laying around than AR ammo so good luck finding them all.
If they do go after the AR, I'd argue a single barrel pump action shotgun with 00 buckshot is the next best thing.
Everyone thought it was game over in 94. Hardly changed a dang thing. This will be at worst case the same kind of donkey show.
