How will you adjust to $7 gas, as Goldman Sachs is saying possible by the end of the year? Will there be complete economic collapse? I have a bad feeling the doom and gloom crowd is correct and life as we know it is about to end, sooner rather than later. I don't think our economy could handle $7 gas.

How soon will it be before we hold this those responsible for this mess responsible?

You chicken-little types just tickle the hell outta me. If gas goes to $7/gal, it goes there. Just like anything else, deal with it, however you must.

I'm sure I can guess who you think is responsible, chicken little. Sheez, when are y'all gone grow up, take some responsibility for your own malfeasance, quit shunting the blame elsewhere?

GO USA!

Millions of people wont be able to just "deal with" $7 gas. The retail sector of our economy will collapse first and the rest will follow.

Best to go without! Before I give up my travel freedom, I will be giving up new clothing, electronics, and makeup. The cell phone will probably stay, and cable, but movies and restaurants will be out. Since I live ten minutes from the beach, I do not have to give up vacations. I already telecommute so that should be ok. We have a garden, so in the summer at least we will be able to cut back on food. Our house is 1600 square feet so it is reasonable to heat and cool. I am set.

Gas might pull back several times, offering short term relief. Most things don't move in a straight line. But if it gets to $7/gal, you can principally thank the Federal Reserve for bailing out Bear and soon to be bailout of Fannie/Freddie for your woes, and also you can blame China's demand and appreciating currency vs the dollar.

The American people are resilient, we will make the neccesary adjustments to our daily lives. The main problem that I see with the price increase for gas is with the truck drivers, I really feel for them, because they have no choice, there is very little that they can do to deal with the price increases.
I wouldn't worry, we will make changes as neccesary, times might be tough for a while, but such is life.

**********You better believe it will affect the truck drivers ,it already is . how about $7.00 for aloaf of bread ( if you can find it ) and don't say that you can bake it because that might not be possable if you can't find or afford the things needed to do that either. Truth is , yes there are changes comming !! TOUGH FOR A WHILE, Thats an understatement.

Everyone relys on gas and diesal! When people actually grasp reality and understand the WHOLE WORLD runs on oil, this aint about you and your little hybrid, every peron in America could switch to bycicles and we would still face a rising cost of living because of fuel prices, and it wouldnt make a twits worth of difference in the mythical Climate Crisis!
We need cheap oil and the best way to do that is get more on the market, It is freaking insanity that we are not treating this as a national emergency and drilling holes in every backyard in America and off the coast's of this country!!

I'm hoping for a revival of local farming and produce. They're always more fresh and delicious than imported stuff.
