Low risk but not no risk- that's how I would describe nearly every man-made medicine as well. The key is- does the low risk of covid outweigh the low risk of the covid vax?
I get the "benefit to society" argument, but when it comes to my kids, I don't care about society, I care about them.
I have kids too, but they are better off having their body recognize the virus should they come across it. That's my job to protect them.
I will never know what its like to get covid without having a vaccine to tune my immune system to it. I'd like the same for them.
Kids are low risk but not no risk. They also are a potential reservoir for the virus to circulate in and mutate.
Nothing in life is "no risk" despite your belief that you are entitled to live in a world with no risk of getting sick, and to force everyone else to live in that world because of your irrational fears.

I hope they're adult children, because the "science" and "data" tells us that the chance of a child under 18 getting seriously ill from COVID-19 or dying is statistically zero.
That's my point- what crazy parent is signing their kids up to be a lab rat! The low risk of covid certainly outweighs the unknown risk of a clinical trial, at least in this parent's mind.
I signed my kid up to be a lab rat for a new chemo drug when he had leukemia, and it had a lot more risks than the coronavirus vaccine does.
I suspect that the parents signing their children up have looked at the risks of the vaccine in adults and concluded the risk of the disease is greater than the risk of the vaccine. The risks of the trial are not really totally unknown at this point as they were with the original studies in adults.
No vaccine for me. I've had covid already and I'll take my chances from here on out. Anyway, what people are getting jabbed with now isnt a vaccine, its an experimental gene therapy. Ill pass on that too.

I got both Pfizer shots. 1st one not bad. Just a half day of feeling ill. The 2nd shot was a whopper. 2 days of hell, plus 5 days of not great at all.
Still better than Covid.
My results exactly. No problem with the first Pfizer shot, but the second one kicked my a$$. Vomiting the first night and then just felt like crap for the next 3 days. Lost 4 pounds. Feel fine now, glad I got it. Go ahead, spit on me, I don't care.
Yet now we are in the "maybe" stage. Good job Arya Stark! We look forward to you reaching the "ok" phase and getting the vaccine, for your own health and the health of those around you.
Wow, what a stalker. Good thing I work in law enforcement.
Yes, I am considering it...
1. First, all my "HELL NO" coworkers already caved.
2. You do have to take some notice of 1/2 of the US population already receiving some of it and not being dead.
3. I will pay a heavy toll in my particular work group for not getting it.. I know my boss's wife is a hysteric. And she could make a real problem with me because I work closely with him.
However, I will be holding off most likely until such time I am going back to work.
We have been told September. I see no reason to get it when I am sitting in my house most of the day.
If we don't go back until November, I probably won't get it until then.
But we have a long way to go... it has only been three months and they pulled the one I wanted off the market...
Yea I don't know why the hell you would be giving these shots to kids. LOL!! How many kids have died from COVID exactly?
Through March 2021, in the USA:
246 kids under 18 have died of Covid
1,957 between 18 - 29yo have died of Covid
5,683 between 30-39yo have died of Covid
15,444 between 40-49yo " "
89,361 between 50-64yo " "
117,252 between 65-74yo " "
148,166 between 75-84yo " "
164,182 85+ " "
When I was younger, healthier, and more reckless, I would not have hesitated, but I probably would have forgotten for a while, maybe a year. Now I need to be more careful about side effects.
