Putin uses this as leverage against NATO. He will play this trick every time he wants to invade another country.
Yes, that makes a lot of sense. Ultimately we may both be right. https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...-virus-ukraine

#1 Alaska is closer to our supply bases than Russia's. Logistically we would have a massive advantage.

#2 We don't want to directly confront Russia in Ukraine, because they have hypersonic missiles with nuclear warheads. Perhaps, Russia looks at us in a similar light.

But he invaded.

Whether it's the CCP or Putin, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
Had been wondering about that.

Underestimated the resolve of Zelensky and the Ukrainians. They come out of this, will Z-Vo become a modern-day Churchill......?

And someone else, here, said it: The conquest is one thing. The occupation is another!

Really nutty - China has no interest in supporting a Russia attack on the US for economic, political or military reasons.

There's an internet thread, going around, saying that Russia and Ukraine is like an abused spouse getting away from an abuser. The abused spouse has gotten its life together, 30 years after divorce, and wants to get re-married (join NATO). But that ex is so jealous, it breaks into the abused spouse's house (invasion), because if the ex can't have the abused spouse, nobody can!
