You don't have to have paid or owe taxes in order to get an electric vehicle tax rebate. My niece graduated college paid for by grants and student loans and had never worked. Because she had a college degree and had an offer from a company for a job she did not start yet, she qualified for a loan to buy a car. She bought an electric vehicle and received the EV rebate. Who do you think paid for that, considering she had no income and no taxes paid yet? Other tax payers (IOW the government). DUH!
You act as though the taxes you pay out of your paycheck and/or at the time of tax filing are all toward electric vehicles, so when they give you a rebate it's just your money you are getting back that you had prepaid toward an EV. Surprise, that's not how it works. All the taxes you pay are sent to the Federal Government to pay for an immense amount of items, including national defense, roads, bridges, social programs, etc. When the government gives you a rebate they are then shortchanged the funds needed to fund those other expenses already on the books. Where do they make that money up? By taxing other people to cover the difference. SMH!
All this has been detailed in the links provided to you, but you obviously have not read up on them otherwise you would not be posting the nonsense you are.
Not one person on this forum is coming to your defense because they all realize you are dead wrong. Even the liberals here don't agree with you about how the taxes and rebates work. Think about that.
The solar and EV federal tax credits require you to buy the solar or EV, and pay also federal income tax. Otherwise there is no credit to be had.
If your niece bought an appropriate qualifying EV, then she could take the credit on her next federal income tax return. Assuming she paid federal income tax. If she paid some tax but not the full amount of the credit, then she could only take the lesser amount. And if she did/does, no one paid her to do so. She paid for the car, and deducted any rebate from her next tax filing. No one paid her to do so.
And that is assuming that she didn't ask you for the related advice.
I haven't been shown to be wrong on this for the last 13 years.
Wow! Buy a $50,000 - $60,000 EV and save $80 a month!!!
From the article: "The president blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for the spike in gas prices as well as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
He spoke at length about his green energy subsidy plans currently awaiting support from Congress.
“Under my plan, which is before the Congress now, we can take advantage of the next generation of electric vehicles, that a typical driver will save about $80 a month from not having to pay gas at the pump,” Biden boasted."
First of all, how do you "pay gas at the pump"?
Second of all, how does paying $50,000 - $60,000 to save $80 a month make ANY financial sense? I guess it's this kind of thinking that has us $30,000,000,000,000 in debt.

What a boob.
But.....Mayor Pete said if I spend 60K on an EV, all my problems for fossil fuels will go away.
Just did some research on the ignore list feature and it appears to be a great way to eliminate seeing gaslighting posts. Might save me a ton of time having to educate people who refuse to see reality for what it is no matter how many links are provided on the topic. Just added the very first one to the list.

What's worse, that 750 month BEP doesn't even account for time value of money. At a 2% discount rate, add another 200+ months to that BEP.
