motive exposed. he probably considers hinckley a hero.

Quote:
The New York City venue hosting an individual who attempted to assassinate former President Ronald Reagan says that the attempted assassin "didn't f---" as many lives as the Reagan administration did.

John Hinckley Jr., who shot Reagan in 1981, announced he would be performing at the Market Hotel in New York City on July 8. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

He was 25 when he attempted the assassination, which injured two others and paralyzed Reagan's press secretary, James Brady.

One Twitter user replied to the announcement, stating "better cancel this," and added "What are you thinking."

In response, the Market Hotel said in a now deleted tweet that "Hinckley didn't f--- up a billionth as many lives as the Reagan admin did."

What is wrong with some people? Hinckley tried to assassinate a President and he put James Brady in a wheelchair. Brady died in 2014 due to complications from the shooting. His death was ruled a homicide.

Isn't it nice that America gives even attempted murder suspects a second chance but there is nothing to be celebrated about Hinckley.

What is the Market Hotel trying do beyond stirring the pot of civility?

Hinckley was inspired by Jodi Foster's performance as a 14 year old prostitute in the film Taxi Driver. Maybe a real Travis Bickle will be lurking in the audience at this "performance."

the political divide between left and right is so irreconcilably different that i don’t think there is any common ground

The Market Hotel is an event venue, not a hotel. The venue has a capacity of 450 and sold out.

The tweet attributed to Hinkley came from the venue and was deleted.

There is a small segment of the population who are fascinated with / curious about notorious criminals, especially serial murderers/ mass shooters. A group gathers in Milwaukee to observe Jeffrey Dahmer’s birthday,

Nuts !

in all reality, as bad as that is, it's not nearly as bad as they way leftists celebrate cop-killers like mumia abu-jamal and assata shakur.

fun fact. i lived in the same texas tech dorm that hinckley once lived in. they wouldn't say which room he'd actually lived in, either out of fear that no one would want to live in it or that too many weirdos would.

Not a fan of Reagan, he caused our border issues, but Hinckley should never have got out.

There use to be, but the Democrats have been taken over by the leftist lunatics, and there is no middle ground with them.
Frankly the Republicans need to stop falling into their tactical trap, which is they go insanely left with bizarre proposals no sane person would, then will eventually compromise a little.
When that happens, the country has been moved much father left than we want to be, because the Republicans tried to be bi-partisan, and ended up in left lunaticville.

WT?

How did Reagan cause the border issues, other than making an agreement with the (D's), and they didn't live up to their end of the bargain.
