In Los Angeles the teachers union was successful in their efforts to defund the dedicated school police so now the smaller force depends upon random patrol rather than an officer on campus

Likely budget. Over 27000 schools around the country and I assume you would want at 3 guards ar a school minimum. So that is 70000+ new government employees that would need to be added and paid by local tax payers, and they are not going to get minimum wage.

If you were thinking of putting guards at all entrances and other places then you might need well over 200,000 new government employees that are NOT making minimum wage, all paid by local tax payers and individual states.

Unless the US Congress is going to support armed guards for schools with Federal Tax money then the program is likely unaffordable by local and state governments which have to balance their budgets.

Arming teachers and/or stationing armed security would require acknowledging the fact that "gun-free zones" don't work, never have and never will, and we can't have people admitting they were wrong can we? That would surely spell the end of the world.

Judges and politicians represent the state. So in a way all of us it is little different from the different reactions to riots in Seattle versus riots at the Capitol building.

Money is guarded because that is what most human predators target. No guards then those most willing to take will take stuff from others.

Children come last because it truly is the mentally defective that target them for crazy reasons, or terrorist. While they are high media profile when the attacks do happen they really don't happen very often compared to the other crimes we guard against.

Also school shootings score political points for the dems. They don't really care about children at all. It's all about votes.

Most banks I go to do not have armed guards and we only protect judges in certain situations.

For the most part, very very few places or people are guarded unless it's really warranted.

The highschools in my area tend to have at least 1 armed resource officer around and at one area HS they got in a shooting with a student that had brought a gun to school in their backpack.

There is an infestation of gangbangers especially at one highschool which is otherwise good.

Armed police were at Parkland.

But hang on. Bank robberies occur all the time, I'm not convinced they are protected with armed guards. And if they are, they don't do anything to prevent bank robberies.

When a drunk driver crashed into a school bus in KY a few years ago, over 15 kids were killed, everyone mourned the loss, but not a single person suggested tougher laws on alcohol or vehicles! that is just mind blowing, My first question would have been WHERE DID he get the alcohol?!!!!
It’s because it doesn’t fit into the democrat narrative and goals for the country. They want people as high and drugged up as a possible and guns taken away so they can control us. They are as transparent as ever about their goals for the country. Establish marxists socialist rule over the peasants who are too concerned about where the next drink, round of sex, and what pronoun is being used to worry about what really matters.

I'll also add that there are *definitely* police on site at big HS sporting events for obvious reasons. Especially football and basketball.

Where I grew up we all parked in the same lot and shared a bleacher area with one teams fans down at the other end.

In more urban areas that is apparently unthinkable and you have 2 separate parking lots, stands and concessions and no access to the other side unless you were to run across the field or track. My area is even pretty low crime and they do that. I remember basketball games in Chicago where they played without fans.

If I'd been on my game, my reply would have been something like "well...that's kind of noble I guess, you taking on the greater trauma of losing your kids, in exchange for them to not have any kind of trauma from seeing their teacher defend them." I'm dead-set against any kind of checkpoints or metal detectors, or worse, the insta-porn machines the tsa pioneered, and are now popping up in shopping malls. But some officers on patrol, that stick to law enforcement matters (i.e. don't call out SWAT when a kid backtalks the teacher), is exactly what's needed, especially if backed by armed teachers and administrators.
Kids are only traumatized by guns because they've been indoctrinated by the anti-gun crowd. Put a gun in front of a baby and see how they react. Answer: they won't react any differently than they would to any other inanimate object. Irrational hysteria is learned behavior. Unfortunately, irrational hysteria regarding guns is widespread, even among adults who should know better.
