It's a difficult topic, and I'm not really sure what the right answer should be. I'd prefer to err on the side of being conservative about such changes. There should be a lot of safeguards in place for making such a dramatic life alteration.
And the first one should be to wait until your body and mind are fully developed and mature enough to make such a decision.
We have a friend who is in transition from male to female in her 60's. Life as a male was a torture for her. She was trapped in the wrong body for decades.
Look. It shocked the heck out of us, and it took some getting used to. Would we walk away from a friendship because of this? No!
Reproduction is not a perfect process. Being born in the wrong body just means that your hormones didn't get it right.
Leave these people alone. They have suffered enough. Our friend knew early on that she was in the wrong body. How many of us woke up one day and decided to be homosexual or heterosexual? None of us. It was innate.
12 years old vs 60 years old and you think they are the same ????

How many of us woke up at 14 and decided our permanent sexual orientation. At 14 I wasn't thinking about my sexual future. Plenty of people experiment sexually at a young age and find where they fit in as time passes. Sexual partners aren't set in stone.
They dont have to wait decades, just until they are mature and experienced enough to know for sure. At 14 they have the rest of their lives to live out the sex they feel they belong. Before having hormonal and surgical changes they can live as the sex they desire. Waiting a few years isnt much of a price to pay.

Hormonal and surgical changes from drugs and surgery that are completely experimental with no long term studies AT ALL. The doctors are literally doing whatever they want since there are NO GUIDELINES.
Horrific. Guinea pig factory.
Absolutely horror show for these kids. It's like a Twilight Zone episode turned into reality.
All parents should be required to attend a live presentation explaining to them:
All of the medications and surgeries are experimental.
None of the medications have been tested or studied in children, EVER, for use in gender affirming care.
Children will need to take medication for as long as they live to fight their biology
No one knows the consequences of taking these medication for life (50+ years)
Every anecdotal report of horrible side effects (both mental and physical)
Some side effects are irreversible
Physicians may not be able to treat side effects because the medications and surgeries are experimental and they simply do not know what to do
The cost of these lifelong medications has been estimated at $1.5 million (right now)
THEN
A lawyer should give a short talk that because the "treatments" are experimental, they cannot sue for malpractice if anything anytime goes 'wrong."
How many parent would sign their kids up for "treatment" and "care" if they truly knew what was being done to their child?
I agree. It's sad (and a bit scary) that the medical establishment is now defending this "treatment" in court, citing their own studies, and saying it's good for kids. Meanwhile, it's a huge money-maker for them. How is it not a conflict? I do think they're underplaying and underreporting side effects, complications, and cases of regret.
Ah yes, WPATH. What else do you expect from a "professional" "trans" organization ran by perverts (some of them confirmed p_do apologists), that now officially includes eunuchs (!), the "questioning their gender" and the "gender nonconforming" (tomboys & effeminate men) under the "trans" umbrella.
The chapter of their SOC v8 (Standards of Care) guidance on eunuchs was commissioned to an "expert" who runs an eunuch website featuring written child p_rn, including child r_pe & child torture.
And these "experts" are advising American Academy of Pediatrics and the White House, and that crap is then shoved down by quack "Rachel" Levine into pediatrician offices & school policies.
You would be surprised at what some of these young parents do today based on social media trends
Nevertheless, it's kids, not their parents, who come up with the idea they were born of the wrong sex. Not many parents want to hear their kid ask, "Why did God make me wrong?". This is a video how a boy was misdiagnosed as being transgender. He became so very unhappy about bodily changes from puberty that his mother hid the knives. So, his mother gave him her estrogen. He grew breasts but changed his mind and wants breast reduction surgery to go back to being a boy. About the last thing I'd want is to be a parent with a kid going through transgender issues, whether only confused or not.
