I don't have a tribal mentality for whites just because I am white. I think it tends to happen more often among minorities such as blacks and Hispanics.
We have been successfully conditioned by the media to not be racist. That can't be said for many other cultures. Also, even among whites there are subgroups that often stick together. I think about the good ole boys who try to hijack city councils out here and take over the town to benefit themselves. Cliques within the workplace and schools, or in popular culture. People like to form groups they can associate with and get protection from. It's our basic wiring.
The series "yellowstone" gives a great look into human nature, some of the left wing ranting about supposed "white supremacism" and much of the critical race theory included in various episodes aside. Beth's ability to use psychological warfare against others makes her one of my favorite characters. Damaged people often understand much more about our nature than people who grew up happy and well-adjusted.
I have written about this "tribal mentality" in the past and it is a factor.
It certainly seems that the Black community is accepting of a certain level of crime in their neighborhoods and that is a real shame because it does not have to be like that. It comes down to the good folks in the hood to Police their own, to pick up the trash, to stop the punks from spraying graffiti and stopping the thugs from stealing but they do not. Why?
There is certainly a tribal mentality when it comes to the Police shooting a suspect no matter how much he deserved it. The community comes together because they must see a bit of themselves in the drug dealing, car stealing, Bodega stabbing, shoplifting, cop fighting, pistol wielding gang member thug. It is odd but I think when a White loser dope head commits crimes, resists arrest and goes for a cops gun and is shot dead as a White guy I do not identify with that guy because I have never or would never be like that.
Why do Black people seem to think, that could have been me, when the cops are forced to shoot someone?

Same here. I am just as disgusted with white trash as I am with any other color of trash. If someone is a thug, skin color is irrelevant. What is inside a person's head is far, far more important to me than their skin color. Their beliefs, actions, presentation, etc is what I base my opinions upon. If I see a white guy that looks/acts like a trash... I assume he's trash. If I see a black guy that looks/acts like a trash... I assume he's trash. Same, same to me.

Something I've noticed over the years is that many black people tend to defend violent black criminals--murderers, thieves, felony crimes, etc. They often get all bent out of shape when justice is served. On the other hand, I rarely see this tendency with whites or other races. Yeah, there are a few, but they are considered nutjobs. For instance, the people (mainly women) who mourned the capture, conviction, and execution of Ted Bundy were flatly condemned by the greater public as weirdos.
Personally, I don't care if a criminal is white, black, green, or blue, if they have committed murder, fry them. If they have robbed, mobbed, assaulted, burned, etc, lock them in jail and throw the key away. Because someone is a white person means absolutely NOTHING to me if he or she is a criminal. I'm certainly not going to riot if that person is taken off the street and locked away.
So, the question is, to what do you attribute this rather odd tendency? I really don't see why a normal, law-abiding black person (or any person) would get all bent out of shape if a black (or any color) murderer, thief, thug, rapist, etc is taken off the street and locked away. I'm sure some of you will deny this is a "thing." But it seems to me it is. All I have to do is watch the news and read posts here to see it again and again.
You are on course - MS 13 and other gangs definitely tied to tribal mentality. The Mafia - basically all organized crime. The motorcycle gangs - only certain folks get into those.
The tribes protect their own as a group, even though they don’t like what they are doing and won’t snitch on them either.
We have had our own - kkk and other parties.
They want mob rule and will fall in with the mob that thinks like they do. And can do something for them. Much like a juvenile delinquent joining a gang. That why they like to say 'democracy is in danger'-the US not a democracy but republic but 'democracy' is a formal term for mob rule. That's why they accuse those who oppose their views as facists, a dictator because if you don't think like them you are the enemy.
Instead of gang colors it's political views in their minds.
It's because they've been enabled and encouraged to think they deserve special considerations above all others. Also, it benefits them to keep portraying America as a racist state and how the legacy of the past continues to hurt them today. Some would rather conveniently blame all of life's ills on racism, instead of personal accountability.
And high profile police shootings are the most dramatic, visceral events and this is why they latch onto them so passionately, and violently defend the lives of these criminals regardless.

It’s an online thing. Blacks will defend other black criminals online until the end of time. But in reality, only around 30% of blacks are the repeat offenders, career criminals, and many blacks are quick to move next to white people as soon as they climb the social ladder.
So what we see is a very sad groupthink, echo chamber, propaganda, monolithic herd mentality that doesn’t reflect reality.
The simple fact is that until blacks stop committing a disproportionate amount of crime, there is not much to defend. The statistics are very clear.
