in other words, manchin refuses to help vegetable xoe jack up his country-killing inflation even higher.

Quote:
Senator Joe Manchin told Democratic leaders Thursday he would not support new spending on climate measures or tax increases, delivering a potentially fatal blow to President Joe Biden’s ambitious economic agenda.

The West Virginia Democrat’s decision, confirmed by three people familiar with the discussions, comes after more than a year of negotiations and just months before midterm congressional elections that will determine control of both chambers.

Manchin and Sinema seem to be the only true Democrats left in the Senate , we need more like them.

Of course you do not want to go further into debt during inflationary times.

Maybe he's the only Democrat that knows it ?

Joe Manchin saved this country from the Denocrat economic collapse on Build Back Better. Imagine the inflation by printing up those trillions of dollars.

Biden's string pullers are trying to kick us while we're down and Manchin and Sinema are blocking the kicks!

Schumer is upset because this was their last chance to spread some cash around before the red wave in November. Soon they won't be able to spend anything for their climate change fantasies. It will be time for "drill baby drill" for a least the next 30+years.

I’m cynical. Allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices is great. Should have happened long ago.

Is this just a game to keep it from passing? Eg “progressive” Democrats demand climate reform and nothing gets passed. Is this just a dog and pony show ?

I’m cynical. I trust no one in our government. Not one.

I think there are more moderate dems, but they go along with the party, primarily out of fear of being cancelled, which has been hijacked radical progressives. Pretty sad how far the democrat party has fallen.
