In Florida, PARENTS control public education, NOT educators, or school supers, or school board officials, or rogue liberal teachers.

Today, several woke former educators here in Florida, are looking for employment elsewhere...good riddence.

The free state of Florida just kicked woke to the curb...love living here in SW Florida.

Governor DeSantis backed many candidates for school board positions, and nearly all of them won, so now they are firing the paid school officials for; closing schools during covid, forced masking, not letting parents speak at school board meetings, having indecent books in their schools, trying to teach sexual content to K-3...anything woke....FIRED!

No more indoctrination in Florida...that chapter has been closed.

Looks like they don't. From your link:

Sarasota board members called Superintendent Brennan Asplen’s job into question at a meeting Tuesday night specially called to discuss his contract. After fielding about four hours of public comment, mostly in support of the superintendent, board members vented criticisms over student performance in reading, how he handled masking students and a perceived lack of transparency from Asplen.
So much for the school board listening to parents in this instance.

You are not alone. His approval ratings are high, and going higher once the news of this public school purge are more widely known.

DeSantis also increased starting salaries for teachers a LOT earlier in 2022 taking them from ranking 48th to 9th!

When New York was defunding their police, DeSantis was offering them relo hiring bonuses to move here...how smart was that? They were experienced, fully trained, and under-appreciated. They are now part of Florida's law enforcement team...some now work in our public schools.

DeSantis has Florida rolling hard right, & his policies are highly effective. I hope he keeps the busses & planes of illegals rolling North too.

Well these parents were immediately identified as domestic terrorists, handcuffed and dragged out of the school board meeting.

Why listen to domestic terrorists?

I suggest you listen to the board meeting and decide for yourself who was in favor of Asplen. This reporting you believe? Why? Did you also believe when conservative parents were claiming the superindentent never listened to THEM?

I'm guessing no. I predicted this school board turnover in this county and was told by countless posters how WRONG I was. Because they believed everything that the MSM said, that all parents were 10000% in favor of all the liberal NON ACADEMIC nonsense that was being forced into the schools. That liberals were the majority and everyone supported all liberal causes in FL. Yeah, not even close.

The school board completely flipped. The remaining progressive member was not running during this election, otherwise he would've been out too. Everyone in this county knew this would happen. Others who were depending on MSM "reporting" thought all the libs would be voted in easily.

Tell me: How does a community that flipped a school board, suddenly have an outpouring of support for a woke superintendent? Hint: It doesn't.

Yet you STILL believe what the MSM is telling you. That's adorable.

Many many more wanted him fired, than wanted to keep him, so he's FIRED! Bye bye.

The new school board members listened to all parties, determined which side was right, then pulled the trigger by firing Asplen. The Libs lost, & the decision is final.

Libs need not apply for ANY jobs in public education in the free state of Florida...we suggest you stay where you are at, and not bring your woke crap down to Florida because we'll find you, and fire you.

Florida doesn't tolerate woke....period. Don't like it..tough....leave.

Great! Now the ignorant, uneducated parents can groom the children in their image as right wing bigots, and force their hateful cult of christian nationalism on other parents children, and drive trans kids to suicide, and put the kids at greater risk of covid, flu, and RSV to appease anti-vaxxers and covid deniers.

It's Farenheight 451 in half these school districts. Banning books! Why not just pile them up on the playground and burn them.

Another great step in the social decline of Florida. So glad I left that crime infested swamp 40 years ago.

So they got rid of an experienced Superintendent for following the School Boards decision back in 2020 all while earing a grade of "A" from the state for 2020 & 2021. This is a another great example from a vindictive state leader.

How is this the fault of Governor DeSantis?
