Except for Christie and Hutchinson, Donald Trump’s primary rivals are running for Vice President, not President.

Quote:
Donald Trump’s primary rivals have had a hard time convincing GOP voters that they’d be more electable than the indicted former president — but they may, at least in part, have themselves to blame for it.

Most of the 2024 candidate field has spent the past two and half years validating or turning a blind eye to Trump’s false claims that he won the 2020 election, priming the Republican base to believe that Trump is a proven winner against President Joe Biden. Now they have only a few months to try to undo that perception but appear reluctant to press the case.

“A lot of these GOP primary contenders are paying the price of enabling Trump throughout the course of the last three years,” said former Florida Republican Rep. Carlos Curbelo, a Trump critic. “The best way to beat him is by ... showing that Trump and his movement have been rejected in general elections three times in a row. But you don’t hear [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis or the other candidates speaking to voters in this way. It’s impossible to defeat someone by following them.”

You would have to be utterly nuts to want to be his VP. However the fact he can only serve one term makes it slightly more attractive.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was supposed to save the Republican Party from twice-indicted former president Donald Trump. He was going to be Trumpy enough without being nutty, a successful culture warrior and a pugilist who could convince the permanently angry MAGA base that he would fight for it. Instead, as some of us who have witnessed him in action predicted, DeSantis turned out to be an inept, unlikable and mockable candidate devoid of basic interpersonal skills.

Alas, it will be almost impossible to knock Trump out if one is too afraid to attack him as unfit and/or unelectable.

Ha ha, he almost got the last one hanged.

Right? That's like asking to be Henry VIII's next wife.

It's probably going to require a really hard fail on the part of DJT for his willfully blind followers to cease their support. Good luck with that.

He’s the only candidate in history who has actively tried to kill his vice president. One term though? Do you really think this one man crime wave would ever give the reigns of power back if he manages to get his grubby little fingers on them again?

They have absolutely no character. They have proven that. The only thing that’s going to shock them out of the cult is electoral defeat. Coming soon to a ballot box near you.

Seeing how the elections are so easily rigged now with these electronic voting machines, I have little faith in the voting process. Like it or not, but Trump still had the second most votes for a president in history, the democrats and deep state had to play it safe by pretending Biden won by 10 million more. And I seen the graph showing the stark upward shift for Biden in the middle of the night. You have to be deranged to believe that is legit.

It's Trump's party now. The old GOP is gone.
