I'm surprised that so many dems condemned dropping the dress code. I saw a clip of several people at a podium all dressed up in suits and he's standing there in his crap clothes and he looked just absolutely rediculus.
Not looking like a slob isn’t partisan chow. I’m quite liberal, but I appreciated it when I was stationed in Europe and no man over 12 would be seen in public without a collared shirt, leather shoes, a belt, and clean well pressed clothes all around. On the plane ride back to America after years abroad the US passengers seriously looked like homeless people to me. For months when I was back, I was thinking - would it kill you to wash and iron your clothes?
A dress code? That’s the most important business they currently have? Ridiculous.
I think it is addressing a symptom in the country, as we slide slowly into a total disrespect of what our government represents.
Many employers have dress codes, and this didn't take that much time away from the time usually waste just walking around and chatting with one another, getting coffee, lunch, etc.
I don't care much for one person wanting rules that have been in place for decades thinking they should be able to ignore them, or have them changed.
That man was a super slob. He looked "homeless" and it was disrespectful of his position.
As far as women, "dressed up", well, we have always been able to figure that out without a set of instructions!
Interesting, that the dress code is only for men. Because really, it's impossible to define an appropriate dress code for women - "dressed up" is so diverse for women.
It's not impossible to define at all. At least, in civilized society.
Imagine you were dressing for church. Sunday best, right? Knee-length skirt or pants suit; no cleavage exposed; heels or flats, but no ***** shoes. Minimal accessorizing.
So glad they all overrode Schumer. Now Fetterman can't dress like a slob when he's at work.
"The idea of turning the United States Senate into a sports bar is very unappealing to me. As though we weren't thought lowly enough as it is."
-- Kevin Cramer, United States senator for North Dakota
Every time Shumer loses, America wins. I'm glad they agreed to a professional dress code. Fetterman must comply, or go home.
