The Biden administration has essentially opened our border to hordes of illegals and it’s causing havoc.

Why is no one talking about this?

I’m referring to the lack of discussion on this issue in this sub-forum, as this administration’s lax border control has the most disparate impact on Texas residents.

You people clearly have no concept of a rhetorical question. Rather than all pile on about how this subject is being “discussed” (it’s certainly not in the Dallas, Houston, or Austin sub-forums), the question posed at the end of my first post in this thread was meant to be a conversation starter.

Ok … let’s talk about it

I propose that we, as a country, identify why so many people are fleeing Venezuela, walking 3000 miles through about 6 different countries to try to come to the US and do something about it.

Keep in mind, for decades, Venezuela was a country of immigrants (people went to Venezuela) and you rarely heard of a Venezuelan living outside of Venezuela.

Democrats do nothing about it
Republicans want to build a wall
That’s why I’m independent

None of those are border towns. What is there to discuss exactly.

Seems like it has something to do with that authoritarian / socialist leader they elected a few years ago. They are coming more or less because there are no jobs in their country and danger is rising. This is more or less what I got from some Venezuelans I met.

Of course Venezuelans are far from the only ones. People from all over are coming.

Sure they are probably coming mostly for jobs and that is fine but do y’all really think america will be able to take care of the future generation of kids that are brought here and their descendants and so on? We are in for quite the future. America is already broke and inflation is already coming without any of this immigration mess.

If things get really bad I will probably move to Uruguay or maybe even Mexico. I can totally see Mexico being a better country than america is in 20-30 years if they can ever solve the cartel problem.

P.S. you are welcome OP. I expect my comment will induce some more responses.
