I'm not voting for Nikki Haley no matter what. I, also, would like him to make up with DeSantis and pick him. If he runs in 2028 I'm voting for him. I guess it will depend whether he needs his running mate to win the General Election because that Republican will help him carry a state. I would prefer a governor. I see Youngkin, though, as a one issue guy. He likes the governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, and so do I. Greg Abbott is also a possibility. Not sure how he feels about Pompeo. He could pick Mike Huckabee if Huckabee has no intention of running for President in 2028. Less chance that the VP will do things behind his back if he's not going to run himself in 2028.
I think his AG is going to be a more important pick than the VP.
You would be surprised what a life long politician is willing to put up with to get into the history books forever. Look at Kevin McCarthy. He wanted to be speaker so badly he sold his soul to become it. There will be no shortage of people wanting to be Trump's veep. First Trump is old and might end up in prison so their shot at becoming president is quite possible during Trump's term. And they will have an inside track in 2028.
But if Trump picks Bobart or one of the other wacky MAGA women Trump will lose. Moderate swing voters will be scared away. It would have been like Biden picking one of the squad. I think Trump is savvy enough not to make that blunder. I could see him picking Tim Scott.
Maybe McCarthy sold his soul but Pelosi never had one.
