It was an alternate to Twitter. Now that Twitter has been bought and has become less hostile to free speech. It's not rocket science. It was only a matter of time before people returned to X

I think the purchase of twitter/X really hurt his network. That was unpredictable but that's business.

Yep, all businesses (especially in tech) face an unpredictable competitor landscape and part of being a good entrepreneur is that you navigate the business to success regardless.

Failure rate for tech startups is extremely high. He’s obviously no better at building a successful tech platform than the other 99% who’ve tried and failed.

He can add Truth Social to his pile of losses.

Social Media and Profitability don't go hand in hand, especially for upstarts.

YouTube and Facebook/Meta took 5 years to become profitable
Twitter took over a decade.

TruthSocial has been around for about 18 months.

Trump created TruthSocial because he was kicked off of Twitter, Musk bought Twitter and Trump returned. There is no longer a big need for Trump to promote Truth Social.

Would it be great if it made a Profit? Yes.
Is it unexpected to be losing money considering several factors? No.

It's a niche site with a self-limiting audience, so it's not really a surprise. I was expecting it to fail at some point.
