Would you rather have brain surgeon who is crass and has diarrhea of the mouth, but is extremely competent, or one who is senile and can't put together a complete sentence, but smiles a lot and doesn't say mean things? Hopefully, you're not struggling with the answer to this question. Now, apply your answer to the Presidency.
You're welcome.

A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them,'" [former Trump Chief of Staff and retired Marine Corps General John] Kelly said of Trump. "A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family — for all Gold Star families — on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.”

Not a good look for "Cadet Bone Spurs".

But the Afghanistan surrender was okay?

The Biden observe-and-report in the Middle East and not responding UNTIL service members are killed. That doesn’t bother you?

The vaccine mandate that was overturned and booted out tens of thousands service members. That doesn’t bother you?

Politicians say mean things to get elected. Politicians that are incompetent and make horrible decisions that result in killing service members need to be voted out of office.
It was democrats that abandoned Americans in Benghazi.

Now Biden and democrats are counting their last days of supporting Israel.

Trump is a "businessman" with a personality disorder. He's a narcissist. This is how they act. They will tear down others to build themselves up. He's not a virtuous fellow.
The sad reality, both past and present, is that he's way better than Joe Biden.

Heads would have rolled under Trump for leaving these soldiers (National Guard) in a very vulnerable place after more than 150 attacks. Someone is asleep at the wheel and/or they just don't care.

"John McCain, who has risen to political prominence on his image as a Vietnam POW war hero, has, inexplicably, worked very hard to hide from the public stunning information about American prisoners in Vietnam who, unlike him, didn't return home. Throughout his Senate career, McCain has quietly sponsored and pushed into federal law a set of prohibitions that keep the most revealing information about these men buried as classified documents. Thus the war hero who people would logically imagine as a determined crusader for the interests of POWs and their families became instead the strange champion of hiding the evidence and closing the books."

Can anyone imagine the pain for those families? McCain did everything he could to block them from knowing the status of their loved ones.

McCain was a loser. I lived in AZ for 6 years, and learned a lot about who he was. I would not have voted for him for dog catcher.

Obviously, the liberals are pulling out all of this stuff that we exhausted years ago concerning President Trump. Desperation after that "well meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" comment will take more than a tired old dredged up McCain argument!

As someone mentioned, look what Biden did to our military. They lost a lot of troops over the experimental vaccine, as the smart ones chose their health, and it was already written in stone that they were not required to be lab rats for anymore experimental medicine! He has allowed transgendered to enter, those with mental health issues were always previously rejected, and they get their meds and surgery, which makes them not being able to be deployed, and I worked with the military when they were being deployed to Iraq, and those that could not immediately deploy were chaptered out! Also, with Biden in charge, they can't recruit anymore as who wants to be under "a well meaning (questionable), elderly man with a poor memory"?

https://www.sullivan.senate.gov/news...itical-agendas

“We've had a war in Ukraine. We've had the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and Secretary of Defense testify in front of the Armed Services Committee that we're probably seeing the most dangerous time globally in any time in the last 40 years.

“So what about the Biden budget this year? Mr. President, he did it again. This is actually [the] EPA, a 25% increase. . . You get down to the Department of Defense with now the nine percent Bidenflation. We're talking a five percent real cut to our military. So that is not prioritizing our military.”

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/what...litary-wrought

That opinion piece is interesting, saying that with the training for the military suffers due to so much time spent in training for the woke liberal agenda, and that also repels those more likely to enlist in the military, conservatives. That makes sense.

To answer the OP, just vote republican.

No need to get involved in the silly games democrats play with moderate vs extreme left socialist within the democrat party.

McCain was in a NVA POW prison camp while Trump is suffering from bone spurs. I hope captain bone spurs keeps making these statements only pushes away more moderate voters.

Just because you served, doesn't make you teflon from criticism.

More recently, the left relentlessly mocked Capt. Brett Crozier, the former commanding officer of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt who was relieved of duty after raising the alarm about a Covid-19 outbreak on his ship in March. His crew loved him and said he saved many lives.

During McCain's POW time, he would also accuse two of his fellow POWs of being “collaborators” who were “actively aiding the enemy,” because of antiwar statements one of them had made while a POW, a charge that dogged the men for the rest of their lives. McCain had no evidence to support his claims.

Before he was shot down, he complained about the rules of engagement were too restrictive, not allowing McCain to kill more "gooks", his words.

Here is an interesting story by a Vietnam refugee, who was also a constituent of McCain.

A person plays a character in a TV reality show. Fans decide they LOVE that character. The more said person 'plays' the character, the more his fans LOVE him.

Based on this fame the person was able to parlay his instant fame into a presidential campaign.

Without playing that fake character, his legacy was as a wheeler-dealer. All of his former business associates hate him, he is known for screwing everyone that he signs a business contract with. From the many interviews with his former business associates the one consistent thing that stands out, is to NEVER do business with that man.

I have sat in church worship services where the pastor openly praised Trump. I have not seen any indication of any Christian virtue, faith, or Jeudo-Christian practice in Trump's life. I have no idea of what other Christians think they see in him. I suspect that they are voting out of hatred. I strongly dislike the idea of assigning hatred as a motive among my fellow Christians. However, I suspect that they hate the left's ideals [Marxism and DEI] so strongly that all else just blinds them.

I am a US servicemember [retired]. I have never voted for Trump. I have never voted for Biden.

In the last election, I voted for the woman doctor who was also on every ballot in all 50 states.
