Let's use the billions targeted for keeping us permanently in Iraq (where they don't want us), and use it to rebuild America. We will have already wasted 3 trillion on that illegal war.

Oh, no, you've got it all wrong ! The NATIONAL Guard is keeping us safe through the wasting of billions on and in another country! Why should the NATIONAL Guard help Americans in their own country! ???!!!!YEEKS! What a radical thought!

Yeah, I forgot. Those are the permanent Iraqi National Guard now - at least for the next 100 years according to McCain.

better yet, keep the troops in iraq so they can keep AQ busy there, and get rid of all the socialist unconstitutional welfare programs and let that money saved help people out here.
plus stop giving all aid to foreign countries and illegal aliens. that would account for a bit chunk of cash right there.

Then I guess you support the use of billions of US taxpayer dollars to support the new American-Iraqi National Guard and permanent miltary base the size of 80 football fields. I do support nationalized health care for all - if other 'civilized' countries provide it for their citizens, why can't the Unted States of America? I am all for pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps, etc.. I did, but I would rather 'waste' the taxpayer money on American projects and citizenry, than on killing and occupying people in other countries.

If you will look here, miss gorgeet, there are some numbers which may calm you down as to how the Iowa National Guard is being utilized to assist in the flooded areas. National Guard Details Flood Relief Efforts - Des Moines News Story - KCCI Des Moines (http://www.kcci.com/news/16603925/detail.html?rss=des&psp=news - broken link)

I'm sure with a little initiative and searching, you can also find information re the national guard in the surrounding states, as well.

Not all of the guard and reserves are "over there", you see. In fact, if you'll go here: DefenseLink News Release: National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Mobilized as of June 4, 2008 you can see just how many guard and reserve members ARE in fact, over there. You can even get a report as of June 4, 2008, in pdf format at that site.

Well now, Miss Delta, I guess that Iraq will be in good shape then, if somehow they get flooded, but where will we be if we need those boys for other disasters?

BRING THE TROOPS HOME [we can not afford Bush's war!. Our nation is falling into deep recession & billions is spent weekly in Iraq. What Republican can justify this huge debt?

Bush will leave our White House & go in to obscurity. Leave our nation in shambles. Thanks Republicans for f--king-up the USA!
