I am an atheist libertarian and I think what you choose to do with your life is none of my business as long as it doesn't get into my business or involves the theft of my money or property.... I should also say that it must also not harm other people then I would get involve but as I see it, sexual orientation doesn't harm anybody and is frankly none of my business... or the government's business...
And married heterosexuals face the exact same challenges and have to spend thousands of dollars to make sure all those documents are legal so other family members don't over-ride them.
I understand that every living organism on this planet is designed to perform one function only: procreate.
This might come as a surprise to you, but there aren't any ova in your stomach or rectum.
So what if I cannot procreate. Why is it even neccessary to add to the worlds 6.6 billion people. Your last statement makes you sound like a moron, it is not required that one procreates to get married. Over procreating has put the world in its bad position. Do you have sex in the missionary position only, are you trying for a child each and every time you have sex? Sex is not only for procreation, , many do it because they enjoy it and use birth control to prevent a pregnancy so that they can enjoy it even more.

You have no response so you change the subject to something irrelevant. If this is a stipulation then sterile heterosexuals should not be allowed to marry, either. Not to mention heterosexuals who have no intention of procreating.

I'd say this is increasingly irrelevant, but it's just dumb, really. It's also ignorant, unnecessary, and shows that for you this is about personal problems with gay men, not the law.
There is only one sin that God hates so strongly that he wipes out entire civilizations that embrace it. That sin is homosexuality. I am not against gay marriage because I hate gay people. I am against it because I fear for the survival of this country if it continues down this path.

As a socially-liberal gay Democrat, it may come as some surprise to you all that I'm still "on the fence" regarding the gay marriage issue. I feel as if in order to eventually gain acceptance, my peers in the LGBT community need to take baby steps instead of beating their chests and thrusting full force into the political spectrum by demanding the legal recognition of their relationships through marriage.
I'm 100% supportive of same-sex civil unions, but I'll only support same-sex marriage if and when the majority of the nation finally becomes well-educated and literate enough to realize we're not "mutants." Until that point my peers in the LGBT community are just adding fuel for Republicans to use in order to distract the American public away from how they fumbled the quagmire in Iraq.
What do others think?
I'm for both civil unions, and marriage. And, gasp, I'm currently registered as a republican. The government shouldn't be legislating lifestyle and some people's morality IMHO.

So would someone tell me why it's wrong to think this way? Seems like too many people in this supposedly free society strongly disagree with the above valid point.

But a lot of heterosexual adultery goes on in this country. But we'll be OK on that because God hates adultery less?
